Where to consult when adopting a child?

According to the provisions of the Adoption Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), Ms. Wang Can adopted children under the age of 14 in social welfare institutions such as orphanages registered by the civil affairs department or families raising orphans and abandoned babies, and registered with the civil affairs department of the people's government at or above the county level.

The adopter shall meet the following conditions:

(1) No children;

(2) Having the ability to raise and educate the adoptee;

(3) Not suffering from diseases that are medically considered unsuitable for adopting children;

(4) At least 30 years old. If an unmarried male citizen adopts a girl, the age difference between the adopter and the adoptee should be over 40 years old. If a spouse adopts a child, the husband and wife must adopt it together. The adopter can only adopt one child. The adoption of orphans, disabled children who can't find their biological parents, abandoned babies or children raised by social welfare institutions can be exempted from the restriction that the adopter has no children to adopt one. The conditions for overseas Chinese and their children to adopt collateral blood relatives within three generations are wider. Specific questions can be consulted in detail by lawyers or local civil affairs departments.

Where a husband and wife adopt together, they shall go through the registration formalities with the adoption registration authority. If one party is unable to go for some reason, it shall entrust the other party with the registration formalities in writing, and the power of attorney shall be certified or notarized by the villagers' committee.

1. Application signed by both husband and wife of the adopter;

2. Resident identity cards, household registration books and marriage certificates of both husband and wife;

3 units or village (neighborhood) committees issued by my marital status, children's situation and the ability to raise and educate the adoptee;

4. A physical health examination certificate issued by a medical institution at or above the county level that does not suffer from diseases that are medically considered unsuitable for adopting children;

5. The birth certificate of the adopter issued by the family planning department;

6. Proof of social welfare institution;

7. The certificate issued by the local public security organ on the report of picking up abandoned babies and children (the adoption of abandoned babies whose biological parents cannot be found and children raised by non-social welfare institutions shall be submitted)

8. Couples and adoptees 1 inch photos 1 piece, two photos of two-inch three people;

9. The announcement of abandoned baby is published in newspapers above the city with districts.

10. If you adopt a stepchild, you can only submit the household registration book, ID card and proof that the adopter is married to the adoptive father or adoptive mother. After completing the adoption registration, take the adoption registration certificate to the public security bureau where the household registration is located.
