As shown in the figure, the output information of "design modeling" should be composed of the input information of BIM application such as "energy model" and "design coordination", which is the principle that information determines information creation. In fact, BIM application is influenced by the output of upstream BIM application, that is to say, if the information required by a downstream BIM application does not exist in the world, the responsible party of BIM application must be responsible by the upstream responsible party.
It is precisely because of this that the planning team of BIM needs to decide the participants of information creation in order to better divide the responsible parties.
BIM process determines the information exchange behavior of project participants, and specifies the content of project exchange for each creator and receiver. In the process of BIM, every information exchange is reflected and defined in the flow chart, and the information exchange between participants must be clear, so that all participants can understand what the BIM delivery results are during the project period.
Moreover, for the information exchanged between them, it is necessary to confirm in detail who received the information and the file type of the information sent, including the specific parameters of the sending model, location data and other data. For some information models that can't decompose the structure, you can create information through comments. In this process, the participants are architects, structural engineers, contractors, engineers, suppliers, facility managers and so on.
Comparing input and output information, different elements need to be specially discussed, and then the information will be changed by the output and the input.
For BIM, the quality of information is needed. A good quality information should have sufficient clarity and consistency, and at the same time, accessibility, availability, timeliness and completeness of information should not be considered. The accuracy of information is also a very important part of quality judgment. Of course, while controlling the quality of information, we should also pay attention to the acquisition cost of information, so as to better control the project cost.
