Psychological counseling, what is your counseling goal?

First, why should there be consulting objectives?

We often take a taxi when we go out. After getting on the bus, the driver will first ask the customer, "Where are you going?" In consultation, the consultant, like the driver, should know exactly where he is going. Therefore, in the initial stage of consultation, it is necessary to discuss clear consultation objectives with visitors.

When asked about the purpose of consultation, visitors may say: I don't know, just want to talk. Or: I am in a bad state and want to change. Wait a minute. These are not consulting objectives. It can be seen as an expectation that visitors want to get out of trouble. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss with visitors, gradually clarify the direction of consultation, and clarify the work objectives. If the negotiation objectives discussed are more consistent with the expectations of the visit, the better the negotiation effect will be.

Second, what is the purpose of consultation?

First of all, the consulting goals are divided into long-term goals and short-term goals. The long-term goal, more like a consulting expectation, may not be specific or clear at first. But it doesn't matter, it has at least one general direction, but this direction must be positive. Then, in the process of interacting with the visitor, we gradually discuss more detailed parts with him and determine the small goals of the recent consultation. If you want to be confident, your friends will see what you are doing and they will come to the same conclusion. There are one or two small possible implementation changes. Promoting the realization of this change is the small goal of these consultations. Every time a small goal is achieved, there will be a little change. This is a solid visit. There are many small changes, which eventually lead to big changes, and finally go to the place where you are looking forward to visiting.

Secondly, the consultation objectives should be consistent with the expectations of the visit. In the process of visiting and discussing the consulting expectation, the consulting goal is gradually clarified and recognized.

Third, goals should be specific, achievable and verifiable. For example, when I visit, I hope my boyfriend will tell me, "He loves me". This cannot be the goal of negotiation. Counselors can't do it. At this time, the counselor can guide the visitor to say, "If your boyfriend changes a little, or you are different, may your boyfriend say' love you'?" What is the closest executable action behind this expectation that visitors see? Discussion on how to achieve this executable action was identified as the small goal of these consultations.

Third, is it difficult to find a consultant?

How long does it take to discuss this consulting goal with him before determining this consulting goal? The general situation is uncertain, which may be 1 times, 3 times or more. Sometimes most visitors are talking about his requirements, his difficulties and his clinical symptoms. For example, I am anxious because I am caught in a complicated relationship and don't know what to do. These are not the goals of negotiation. The above are the difficulties, dilemmas and symptoms I encountered during my visit. At this time, the time to determine the goal will be lengthened. For example, the visitor said, I hope I won't be depressed again, and I hope I won't feel bad again. This is a negative goal. Answer an ambiguous and visual response in a negative way. At this time, the consultant should transform the needs and difficulties mentioned by the visitors. Talk to visitors about positive goals. For example, by asking questions: If this consultation was helpful to you, what would you do differently? What will happen to you? We didn't want to help him achieve much from the beginning. Let's start with a small goal. Before this small goal is achieved, something he can accept and feel better than now will happen. It makes him better. He is experienced.

Fourth, the goal is only the direction.

I discussed the goal with the visitor. This goal is only for the next few consultations or a general direction of consultation. If he comes next time, but talks about something else, you can talk to him first, and then discuss with him whether to continue this incident. We still have to go back to the direction we decided before. If the visitor says that I will continue this matter today, maybe this section will be completely occupied. The next time he comes, he will be occupied by other things for a whole period of time. It doesn't matter, as long as he wants. But we can kindly remind him that it is possible that this goal may change halfway. Discuss his new consulting needs with visitors and take new goals as the work direction. We'll go with him. But remind him from time to time whether this direction is what he wants.

In a consultation stage, the goal direction is set several times before, and the goal is the focus in the middle. That depends on whether the tourist will go straight, or whether there are several other new directions to look at, but in general, he will follow this general principle. In the process of consultation, it is like exploring in the jungle. You are the guide, stay with him and drag him with a rope. You can't let him go too far. No matter where you go, just pull the rope at any time and confirm with him whether you want to come back or not. A new direction. Is this where he wants to go? Check with him. If he really wants to go that way, discuss with him whether to change the target. So at this time, the consultant is with him, not just with him.

5. Different schools have different goals.

Cognitive behavioral school, the goal is more specific. The process of establishing consultation objectives is an important link in the whole consultation process. Once the goal is found, the negotiation will take a big step forward. More structured, once the goal is determined, you will know what to do next, and you will have a sense of control.

Spiritual motive orientation and people-oriented orientation are abstract. Pay attention to the inner conflict or unconscious things behind the information expressed by the interview, and the consulting goal is basically on the degree of changes in people and personality. Psychological counselors follow up visits, organize consultations and move forward according to the psychological framework.
