Fuqing City is located in the southeast coast of Fujian Province, south wing of Fuzhou, with geographical coordinates of 2518 ′-25 52 ′ north latitude and 0/9 03 ′-0/9 42 ′ east longitude. It borders Changle District, Minhou County and Yongtai County in the north, Putian City in the west, Pingtan County across the Haitan Strait in the east and Xinghua Bay and Rinan Island in Putian City in the south. Land area 15 19 km2, sea area 9 1 1 km2.
Fuqing city is called "Rong" for short and "Yu Rong" for elegance. This name is taken from the words "Yongfu" and "Qingyuan" in the sentence "Mountains come from Li Yongfu and water comes from Li Qingyuan". The development of history
In the second year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (AD 699), the eight townships of Taiping, Kant, Chongfu, Shanting, Xiaoyi, Wan 'an, Changle and Yongle in the southeast of Changle were located in wanan county, and were assigned to Quanzhou (now Fuzhou). In the first year of Tianbao (742), it was renamed as Tang Fu County and placed under Changle County (now Fuzhou).
In the third year of Yuanhe (808), Changle County was merged into Tang Fu County. In the fifth year of Yuanhe (8 10), Changle County was restored. In the second year of Kaiping in Hou Liang (908), it was renamed Yongchang County and placed in Fuzhou. In the first year of Tongguang in the later Tang Dynasty (923), it was renamed Tang Fu County.
In the 4th year of Changxing (in 933, the first year of Minlongqi), it was changed to Fuqing that "the mountain comes from Li Yongfu and the water comes from Li Qingyuan, so it must be managed by local authorities". Transferred to Changle Prefecture (1896, Fuzhou was upgraded to Changle Prefecture).
In the Song Dynasty, Fuqing County was still assigned to Fuzhou. In the meantime, in the five years of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (980), he was transferred to Xinghua Army. Taiping and Xingguo eight years (983), transferred to Fuzhou. In the first year of Jingyan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1276), Fuzhou was promoted to Fuan House, and Fuqing County was placed under Fuan House.
At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, Fuqing County belonged to Fuzhou Road. In Zhenyuan (1295), there were 40,000 households, which were promoted to Fuqing House and still transferred to Fuzhou Road. In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1369), it was restored as a county and placed under Fuzhou.
In the first year of Nanming Longwu (1645), he was transferred to Tianxing House. Fuqing County was still under Fuzhou in Qing Dynasty. In the third year of Jiaqing (1798), Haitan Island in Fuqing County was located in Pingtan Jianjun Hall and Zhili Fuzhou House.
In the first year of the Republic of China, Fuqing County belonged to East Road (renamed Minhai Road in the third year of the Republic of China). In 14, Fuqing county was directly under the jurisdiction.
