The northwest section of Kunming Ring Expressway started construction in July, 20 10. Kunming South Ring Expressway was opened to traffic on August 30th, 2004. It is the G56 Hangrui Expressway connecting G85 Chongqing-Kunming Expressway and G78 Shankun Expressway in the "five vertical and seven horizontal" highway skeleton network in the national trunk line system planning and layout scheme, and it is one of the "eight inter-provincial highway passages for western development" planned by the Ministry of Transport, and also the expressway connecting the east and west directions in the inner ring system of Kunming Ring Road.
After the completion of the project, the inner ring system of expressway around Kunming (central line of expressway around Kunming-Kun 'an Expressway-Northwest Expressway around Kunming-Donghuan Expressway) will be closed, and it will be connected with five expressways in Kunming (Kunyu Expressway, Kunshi Expressway, Kunqu Expressway, Kun 'an Expressway and Kunwu Expressway), which is of great significance for improving the road network structure of Kunming, diverting transit traffic and alleviating traffic congestion in the main city. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will realize the separation of passengers and goods, form a new traffic pattern of "goods take the outer ring and passengers take the inner ring" and a rapid transit passage for freight, which plays a very important role in reducing the traffic interference caused by transit and freight to the central city of Kunming and creating a good traffic and city appearance environment, and is listed as a key project in Yunnan Province and Kunming City.
Designed and built according to the expressway standard, it has been approved as a toll expressway by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government. The main road is a two-way six-lane asphalt concrete pavement, with the main road design speed of 100km/h and the tunnel design speed of 80 km/h. The road red line is 45m wide, the bridge and subgrade are 33.5m wide, and the structural design load is a first-class highway ... This project is located in the southwest of Kunming, north of Dianchi Lake. The line starts from Gao Feng Junction Interchange of Kun 'an Expressway. After rebuilding the reserved ramp, Caohai Tunnel will be set up to cross Caohai Lake, and the tunnel exit will be connected by dike bridge to cross the main line of Dianchi Road. Hewei Village Interchange will be connected with Dianchi Road, passing through Zhuangjiatang, Luoya Village and Zhaoqian Village, and the main line will cross Kunyu Expressway. Dujiaying Interchange will be set up to realize the traffic conversion with Kunyu Expressway, which will pass through Ni. There are 4 intersections, 3 tunnels, 6 extra-large bridges, 7 large and medium-sized bridges, 24 culverts, 8 passages, 7 main toll stations/kloc-0 and 7 ramp toll stations.
