Orange Island is a famous tourist attraction in Hunan Province. One of the eight scenic spots in ancient Xiaoxiang, the "river sky and dusk snow" is here. The stone in Song Xiao Da Jing is known as "Little Penglai", without the heat of "Gong Ji House" in the amphibious temple. On the Xiaoxiang River, there are fishing songs in the second and third watch, which are still popular today.

Orange Island is a painting showing amorous feelings. It has beautiful scenery with Yuelu Mountain as its neighbor and Xiangjiang River as its partner, forming a unique landscape of "one mountain and one city". Looking at Yuelu Mountain in the west, it is adjacent to Yuelu Academy, Love Evening Pavilion and Yuelu Mountain University Town under construction. Look east at Xiangjiang River and enjoy the prosperity of the city. From west to east, mountains, water, continents and cities are integrated, like flowing paintings, such as enlarged bonsai. Tourists visit the mainland, listen to fishing boats singing late, watch Lushan red maple, watch Tianxin Feige, admire orange trees and sing praises to sages.

Orange Island is a bridge to inherit history. She was deeply influenced by Huxiang culture and formed a profound historical background. In the south, Zhu He shuttled between Yuelu Academy and Chengnan Academy, giving lectures in Zhu, explaining the grand occasion of Huxiang children studying 800 years ago. Amphibious temples and Gongjilou tell the prosperity of religious culture in Yuan Dynasty. Zeng Guofan's trumpet sound of practicing Xiang on the water faintly echoed over Orange Island; Weathered foreign consulates and senior villas witnessed the history of Changsha after its opening. Mao Zedong stood in Orange Island and asked, "Who is in charge of ups and downs in the vast land?" The change of JIU has written the course of China's history. Orange Island, also known as Land and Water Island, is 5 kilometers long and 40 to 200 meters wide. If you stand on Yuelu Mountain and overlook it, it looks like a long belt floating on the Xiangjiang River. There are various legends about its origin. One of them is:

When there was no continent in Xiangjiang River, a group of fishermen lived by the river. Among the fishermen, there is an old man nicknamed beard dad, who is respected and deeply loved by everyone. So everyone agreed to make a belt around the old man's waist to make him feel warm and powerful. They selected seven girls who can knit best and knitted a strong white belt. The girls also embroidered a beautiful long island on their belts. Bearded dad accepted this special gift and tied it around his waist. One day, bearded father and fisherman were caught in a storm while fishing in the river. At that time, the wind was very strong and white waves were extremely dangerous. But the bearded father felt a great force in his waist, and he only rowed a few times to reach the shore. He was so surprised that he touched his waist with his hand and found that the belt gave him strength. So he took off his belt and threw it at his partner who was struggling in the wind and waves ... The belt floated into the river, getting longer and longer, and finally floated in front of the fishermen and became a strip-shaped land. The fishermen landed on land and were saved. They knew that this land was brought out by bearded dad, and they all cherished it very much, so they settled down on this land and cultivated it carefully, making it a beautiful long island. Mao Zedong has a soft spot for Orange Island.

When Mao Zedong was young, when he was studying in Hunan No.1 Normal University, his classmates and friends often went to Zhoutou to make waves and discuss state affairs. 1925, he wrote the well-known poem "Qinyuanchun Changsha", expressing his great ambition to save the world and the people.
