Zhejiang Sci-Tech University is located in the famous historical and cultural city of Hangzhou. This school has a long history. Its predecessor, Silkworm Academy, was founded in 1897 by Qi Lin, the governor of Hangzhou, for saving the country through industry and education. It is one of the earliest new educational institutions in China. 1964 was named Zhejiang Silk Vocational and Technical College by the State Council and renamed Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in 2004.
