Frankly speaking, when ASUS came to the mainland in 1999, it was relatively late compared with other companies. So when it comes to this, many friends say, why do you want to hold a sports meeting in five years? In fact, running depends not only on who starts early, but also on who runs fast, and running fast can lead. When 1999 came, we rented a factory building first, which was the birthplace of ASUS in Suzhou. At present, we still keep it as a warehouse, which is rented. In 2000, we started to establish ASUS Science Park. The whole site of ASUS Science Park is 540,000 square meters, covering an area of nearly 900 mu. Because the area is relatively large, it is impossible to develop it all at once, and it is being implemented in stages.
The first stage mainly includes intermediate facilities including training centers, and the most important ones are three factories. The first factory was basically started in March 2000 and put into use six months later, covering an area of 40,000 square meters. Mainly used for motherboard production. The second factory is a system factory. I think its ingredients are quite special. The first floor of this factory is a heavy metal area, which is a big punch and chassis. The third factory is a plate factory, including the finale machine, drilling machine and so on. It is predicted that the first phase of the project will take ten years at the earliest, but the fact is much faster than expected. In less than two years, we started the second phase of development, that is, the current No.5 factory building and No.6 factory building. The No.5 factory building mainly makes connectors and stamping parts. At present, some wireless products are produced here, and a factory building is about 40 thousand square meters. But this is actually not the biggest, the biggest is our famous No.2 factory. This factory building is about10.2 million square meters, with many first figures. First of all, it has 18000 people working, and this scale is spectacular. Sometimes I joke that the factory eats several tons of apples a day. Not only is there a large number of people and a large venue, but the output value is also very high, with an annual output value of at least $3 billion. It is more than the total output value of many domestic development zones combined. I think this factory has a great impact not only on ASUS itself, but also on the economy of Suzhou and even Jiangsu Province. At present, CDs and laptops are in it. The next phase of development currently under way mainly includes some training dormitories and a logistics center, which will be completed and put into use next month. The logistic center has introduce a very advanced management mode, and that headquarters has also sent people to investigate, which is also a demonstration point. In addition, it also includes some new extensions.
Next, I want to introduce Mingshuo computer. Because Mingshuo computer was the earliest and the factory was the largest. Many of ASUS's most important products are produced here. At present, ASUS Suzhou has established these five enterprises with more than 33,000 employees. I remember when I first came here four or five years ago, there were only 300 people in the company. At that time, I wanted to make the company into 3,000 people through my own efforts, ten times as many as before, but I didn't expect it to become more than 30,000 people today, ten times more than I expected. Among them, the earliest established masters are probably more than 27,000-28,000 people.
Mingshuo Computer currently covers an area of 6.5438+0.6 million square meters in the park, with an investment of 280 million US dollars. Mingshuo was founded at the end of 1999. The first whole year was 2000. In 2000, our total export was about $300 million. In the second year of 200 1, it has probably reached 800 million US dollars. In the third year, we have achieved nearly $2.4 billion. This $2.4 billion has ranked first in Jiangsu and Suzhou. Ranked eighth in the country. Last year, this was based on the rough estimate of the current export customs. The total import and export volume reached $6.8 billion. I think Jiangsu and Suzhou will continue to rank first. Even in Jiangsu province, it is more than the second and third combined. The country is currently ranked fifth. This year, the chairman hopes that we can break through10 billion. Although the IT products in 200 1 and 2002 were not depressed, we still maintained a double-speed growth.
Asustek has been established for three years, and its import and export volume ranks first in Jiangsu Province and fifth in China. At present, Mingshuo computer basically produces quasi-system products. Other products produced in the whole park, such as circuit boards, connectors, stamping lines, etc. Provide it as raw materials. Then we can also produce motherboards, multimedia products including CDs, graphics cards, barebones, mainframes, notebook computers, information appliances including communication products. Almost all ASUS products can be produced. What I just said is basically the general situation of ASUS production base.
In addition to providing ASUS's own products, all major IT vendors that can be imagined at present are basically our OEM customers. Therefore, Suzhou factory is more important to the whole world besides being rooted in China. At this point, I am very grateful for your support.
