Anhui and Jiangsu once belonged to the same province-jiangnan province in history, and jiangnan province was the place with the heaviest tax, the richest place and the largest number of candidates. It is said that half the talents in the world came from Jiangnan. Because this place is too big and rich, in order to stabilize the rule, during the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, jiangnan province was divided into two parts. The eastern part was called Jiangsu, and its name came from the initials of Jiangning (Nanjing) and Suzhou, and Anhui Province came from the initials of Anqing and Huizhou (now Huangshan).
