China Consumers Association was established in the State Council in June 5438+0984 and June 5438+02. It is a national social organization that conducts social supervision on goods and services and protects the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
The organization of China Consumers Association is the Council. The directors are elected by relevant government departments, people's organizations, news media, consumer associations of all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and cities under separate state planning (committees, the same below) and consumer representatives from all relevant parties through consultation. The plenary meeting of the Council is held once a year. During the intersessional period, the Permanent Council exercises its functions and powers. The daily work of the association is undertaken by the permanent office, and the secretary-general and deputy secretary-general are in full-time management and are responsible to the president. The funds of China Consumers Association are allocated by the government and sponsored by the society.
China Consumers Association shall perform the following functions in accordance with the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests:
(1) Providing consumer information and consulting services to consumers;
(two) to participate in the supervision and inspection of goods and services by the relevant administrative departments;
(three) reflect, inquire and make suggestions to the relevant administrative departments on issues related to the legitimate rights and interests of consumers;
(4) Accepting consumer complaints, and investigating and mediating the complaints;
5] If the complaint involves the quality of goods and services, it can be submitted to the appraisal department for appraisal, and the appraisal department will inform the appraisal conclusion;
(six) to support the injured consumers to file a lawsuit against the acts that harm the legitimate rights and interests of consumers;
(seven) through the mass media to expose and criticize acts that harm the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
The association does not engage in commodity management and profit-making services, and does not recommend commodities and services to the society for profit.
