It has been more than ten days since I took part in the second interview. It suddenly occurred to me that I should write out the experience of the second interview and give it to all comrades who want to take part in the second interview for reference, at least to relax my nervousness.
1. April 1 Take a written English test with 30 points. It took me two hours to translate three English documents. It's not that hard. One is about the appreciation of RMB exchange rate, the other is about Keynes's three psychological laws, and the other is ~ ~ ~ Sorry, I forgot.
On April 4th, I attended an interview organized by the college. The interview procedure is to divide the candidates into two groups. I am in the first group, a female doctor who has just returned from studying in the United States to take an oral exam. To tell the truth, her spoken English is so good, so fluent, so beautiful and so temperamental that I am deeply attracted by her. I didn't catch all the questions she asked me, but I was more alert. I learned some questions from the keywords she asked me: which school did you graduate from? What is your major? If your answer is not economics, she will continue to ask you why you want to switch to economics. What are your plans and careers after graduation? Talk about your feelings about studying economics. Almost all the materials prepared at that time could be used, and we talked for about 5 minutes. Later, she read an English document of about 200 words. The first step is to let you say the meaning of the document in Chinese, and the second step is to repeat it in English. This process is the most difficult. I remember listening to an English article about nominal exchange rate and real exchange rate, roughly understanding several key meanings, and then reciting the definition. Maybe the teacher guessed that I didn't fully understand the meaning. She asked me, "Did you really understand or guess what you just said?" I told her honestly that I was guessing and didn't fully understand it. Later, the teacher told me that although I didn't completely repeat the article, I was honest and she assured me of my spoken English. So, the oral exam is over ~ ~ ~
The second step is to go to the conference hall for an interview on professional knowledge. At that time, a large number of well-known scholars in China sat together and saw that their legs were really shaking. Fortunately, the teachers' smiles eased my nervousness.
The first question is: What are the hot economic issues in China in the past two years?
The second question is: From Adam Smith to david ricardo to Marshall Byte and then to Keynes, what are the arguments about economic theory among neoclassical economics, comprehensive school and neo-Keynesian school? Personally, I think this question is very deep, and I have examined a person's generalization ability.
Then, maybe my answer is better (in fact, the teacher largely depends not on your answer, but on your agility and your thinking ability to respond to a strange question)
I chatted with you later and asked you what your major was. If you say you are an environmental protection major, he will ask some basic questions related to the environment, such as what externalities are there. If you are an insurance major, he will ask questions about moral hazard and information asymmetry afterwards. You will also ask questions unrelated to your major, such as is this your first exam? Which school did you graduate from? What projects have you done before? This, I learned later, is very terrible. According to what I know, let me say a few words. Many primary schools have been admitted to Nankai, especially normal schools. Some friends have only taken postgraduate courses at school since they went to college, so that their scores are particularly high, and others are unknown. According to a former friend, in such a primary school, teachers are disgusted with students. They get high marks, but they can't ask anything. Please don't get me wrong when I write this. I'm not attacking those students whose primary school graduation scores are particularly high. Heroes don't ask about their origins, but what I want to say is that there are indeed many friends who are majoring in postgraduate entrance examination. Although their scores are high, they know nothing. Senior grades and primary schools are not a problem, but they are nothing. Therefore, everyone should try their best to show their abilities in the interview. For example, if your econometrics is good and you are interested in statistics, you should try your best to express it.
Supplementary explanation of interview
1. Be sure to pay attention to the instrument and be solemn. Boys should try to wear suits or more formal clothes, and girls should never wear tights and short skirts. At this point, there is a bloody lesson. I heard that a girl with good grades in finance major wore a sexy black tights during the interview, but she was brushed off at the first interview and had to participate in professional adjustment within the department.
2. Be sure to knock at the door when you enter, and then show respect to the teacher politely (deep bow is better), because the teacher doesn't want to recruit an uncle as an apprentice, so politeness is necessary. If you don't pay attention to this aspect at ordinary times, you should pay attention to it deliberately when interviewing friends.
3. Be sure to turn off your cell phone, and don't have the embarrassing situation that your cell phone keeps ringing at the interview site. If there is an unexpected embarrassment during the interview, you must apologize to the teacher after the interview.
4. Boys should try not to dye their hair, while girls, I think, can dye it in a lighter light color. Interview instructors are generally over 45 years old, and they will hardly accept these new people, no matter how talented you are ~ ~ ~
If the English interview is spoken rather than asked by the teacher, you should try to concentrate on your English introduction materials and don't speak too fast. If you speak too fast and the sentences are complicated, you will behave better in front of the teacher. When you introduce yourself, the teacher will show off his cow rudely! He will make the sentence he asked you very complicated and quickly-look at your heart, who told you to be so arrogant and aggressive just now.
6. Be honest in the job interview. If not, honestly say that you don't know much about it, and tell me everything you know. Don't try to think you can fool the past. There is also a lesson in blood. Last year, a classmate with high grades was asked in an interview: When was the Philips curve put forward? In fact, this problem is very difficult, and even many economists may not know it. If you don't know the exact date, just say the word "maybe" and then say what you know. However, at that time, a buddy definitely answered that it was put forward by 1960 ~ # #%. Because the attitude is very positive, and the original intention is to "take the exam", I think I can fool the past. As a result, the teacher didn't ask a few more questions, and I felt particularly good at that time. As a result, I heard that he was brushed ~ ~ (this curve was put forward by Philips after studying the data from 1867 to 1957).
7。 By the way, if you have high grades and want to visit your teacher, you should give something you don't mind (teachers usually don't see students). In fact, there is no need to visit the teacher before the interview. During the interview, I heard a classmate in Chongqing tell a story. Last year, a teacher from Shanxi took the second place in Sun Yat-sen University, but his family was poor and he wanted to visit his teacher. As a result, I sent some native products of my hometown-Shanxi mature vinegar. Hehe, later I heard that I brushed him off during the second interview. You know why, right? Perhaps this elder brother doesn't mean "jealousy" himself, and he is afraid that the teacher will "borrow the scenery to make love" ...
Ok, let's talk about my interview process. I don't know the result of my interview now, and I don't know if I can pass the difference interview, but I hope all the comrades who suffer can have a good ending.
I wish everyone a good tomorrow!

Pay attention to three points in the postgraduate entrance examination on the second floor:
Because of the difference in the second interview, a small number of candidates who participated in the second interview could not be admitted, so everyone should pay attention to the second interview. According to the author's own and classmates' experience, I provide some inside information about the second interview, hoping to help everyone.
First: Not all schools and all majors implement the difference retest.
Although all schools have stated in the enrollment brochure that the difference retest should be implemented, in the enrollment process, especially for some unpopular majors, because the number of applicants is relatively small, or even the number of applicants is less than the number of students enrolled, in this case, the majors will not implement the difference retest because the instructors are also worried that they will not recruit students. Don't enroll students for three years, cancel the qualification of tutor. Therefore, many students who apply for unpopular majors don't have to worry too much about the difficulty of passing the re-examination. The second interview is likely to be just a formality and will not be carried out in strict accordance with the regulations. The original 40-minute interview may be completed in 4 minutes, and the content is just a casual question from the instructor. This is the case in the second interview I participated in.
Second: the identification of public places.
This is a problem that everyone is very concerned about. Many schools take grades as the standard, so everyone has to get high marks. The results here mainly refer to the preliminary test results. For example, in 2004, the School of International Relations of a university clearly stipulated that only those who scored 390 points or more in the initial test were paid at public expense, and those with low scores were only disappointed. However, after admission, I found that there are still some semi-self-funded places, that is, only half of the tuition fees have been paid. As for how this semi-self-funded list is determined, it is not known. I have a classmate who took an administrative examination in a university in Hunan. He studied at his own expense, but he said that he got the semi-self-funded quota by virtue of his good relationship with his tutor. Some schools, if they want to study abroad at public expense, have to meet two conditions: first, candidates from their own schools; Second, get on well with your tutor. Candidates from other schools are at a disadvantage in the process of competing for public places. Some of my classmates took the administrative examination of a famous school in Guangzhou, and their initial results were among the best, and their re-examination results were also good. After the second interview, it was planned to be a public place, but later I received the admission notice at my own expense.
Third: discrimination against foreign candidates in the re-examination process.
Because tutors and candidates in our school are often familiar with each other, tutors often tell students before the exam: as long as they pass the first online exam, there will be no problem in the second interview, and some candidates are even "pre-determined" candidates by tutors, so many schools are not candidates for the second interview. It is true that no one has seen the candidates in our school fail in the second interview. However, many famous schools are not "assured" of foreign school candidates. They think that candidates from other schools are not trained by themselves and their quality is not good. They only know how to cope with exams, but their scientific research ability is not good. Therefore, the examiner pays special attention to candidates from other schools during the second interview. In this way, candidates from other schools should be careful. It's your foreign students who have a second interview. Candidates from foreign schools are not only the main targets of the interview, but also it is difficult for candidates from foreign schools to win public positions after being admitted, because schools generally tend to take care of their own candidates.

What do you need for the third floor postgraduate entrance examination?
The annual written examination for postgraduate entrance examination has always attracted the attention of students. In order to prepare for the written test, candidates have spent a lot of time. Although the days of "the sword front comes from sharpening, and the plum blossom fragrance comes from bitter cold" have passed, we can't relax our vigilance, and there will be a more cruel second interview. It is because of the efforts of the initial test that we can not lose in the second test.
The second interview is undoubtedly the most decisive part. In addition to some schools using written examination to examine professional knowledge, there are quite a few contents in the second interview to examine candidates' professional knowledge, ability to engage in scientific research and comprehensive quality through interviews or observation experiments by tutors. High marks and low abilities are many graduate tutors' comments on some recruited students. In order to select potential students who are really suitable for graduate school, many graduate enrollment units say that the proportion of graduate re-examination in the total score should be increased.
At the same time, the second interview is also the best opportunity for candidates to fully demonstrate their own qualities, abilities and qualities. The excellent performance of the second interview can make up for some shortcomings of the previous written test. Because, nothing in the world is absolute. Many times, as long as you are prepared and courageous, you can win the opportunity.
I don't want to repeat the general argument here, just want to let the candidates know what is the most important.
First, fully understand the professional knowledge involved in the research direction of the tutor.
In addition to the most basic professional knowledge, you should also fully understand the research content of the tutor. Usually, the examiners for re-examination are the most authoritative teachers in all majors. There may not be your mentor among them. However, they usually ask you such questions. For example, the research direction and progress of the tutor you applied for, or some basic professional knowledge. Therefore, we must make preparations in advance in this regard. The other is the latest development of this major, which is easy to be involved in the second interview.
Second, pay attention to cultivate your professional quality and show your true self.
Postgraduate re-examination not only examines the importance of candidates' professional knowledge, but also examines the professional quality of candidates as researchers to a certain extent, which is a problem that many re-examination candidates easily ignore. The students that the tutor likes are all practical, serious and innovative. But how to embody these qualities in a very short re-examination time? The most important thing is to let your tutor know your sincerity. You are a down-to-earth and trustworthy person. You will never talk big, but only do nothing. All graduate students will feel this way, and the tutor wants his students to work as hard as cows. So don't be glib and show off your skills. Don't pretend and hide in the interview, you must show your true strength and personality, and pay attention to the spirit of innovation when answering questions. People who stick to the rules will not achieve much. This is especially important in some experimental majors.
Third, collect re-examination information in time.
When preparing for the second interview, information is the most important. The information about the second interview includes not only the basic knowledge such as time, place and examiner, but also the content, scope and inspection method of the second interview. Of course, some information is not so easy to get. The specific methods of collecting information are as follows:
First of all, we should consult the school admissions office in time about the form and time of the second interview. Listening has been added this year, and the way of re-examination may change. So be sure to keep in touch with the admissions office and often browse the website of the school you are applying for.
Secondly, you can ask your seniors about the scope and content of the second interview. They have gone through a second interview, so the information they provide is also the most reliable. In addition, if the conditions are limited and you can't reach these people, you can also go to the bbs (forum) of your university for help. Many students may not realize that this is an excellent source of information. The specific topics of written test and oral test may be different from year to year. However, the approximate scope and method of the exam should not change much.
Finally, you should search the latest trends of applying for majors in the library or online. You can also increase your professional knowledge in the process of collecting information.
After all, these methods described above are shortcuts. If time permits, it is best to review all the professional knowledge you have learned, which is especially important for those candidates who are interdisciplinary.

Four steps to determine the success or failure of postgraduate entrance examination and re-examination under the guidance of the experienced person on the 4th floor:
First of all, congratulations to all of you, the initial test was successful. However, the total score of the initial test and the scores of individual subjects meet the requirements, which does not mean that the postgraduate entrance examination is successful. Re-examination results are still a threshold for graduate students. Generally, candidates who pass the initial test will be retested at the end of March and April, and admission will begin in May. During the second interview, about 20% of the candidates who passed the initial test will face elimination. The proportion of retest scores in the total scores, as well as the time, place, subjects and methods of retest are determined by the relevant departments of the enrollment institutions. Generally, there are three parts: comprehensive examination of specialized courses, comprehensive quality interview and English test. The comprehensive examination of specialized courses is generally written, and the interview mainly examines the comprehensive quality of candidates.
As the saying goes, only those who are prepared will not get sick. How do prospective graduate students who are about to enter the ideal university prepare for the second interview and how do they perform in the second interview? I think after the initial test, I will prepare for the second test. First, read the re-examination reference materials designated by the relevant departments of the enrollment institutions and prepare for the comprehensive examination of professional courses. At the same time, knowing the current research hotspots in this field and the knowledge related to the tutor's research topic will benefit candidates a lot in the interview. Second, it is not difficult to review English, including listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation skills, especially the ability to communicate in English. I can correctly and clearly explain my views on some phenomena in my daily life, study and work in English. In addition, there is specialized English review: memorizing a certain amount of specialized English vocabulary and practicing translating long sentences with complex structures. Third, some graduate students with scientific degrees will be added to the second interview to examine the experimental skills. Some interdisciplinary students or candidates with high scores and low abilities often "capsize in the gutter" in the experimental skill examination, so candidates need to pay attention.
Although the proportion of retest results in the total score is getting higher and higher, and the retest team is gradually improving this assessment method, it is still an informal assessment with strong subjectivity and randomness. The fate of candidates depends not only on their true comprehensive quality, but also on the subjective consciousness of the re-examination team and tutors. Leave a good impression on the tutor and the second interview team, and you will be half successful. What problems should I pay attention to in the second interview?
First, communicate with the tutor before the second interview.
If candidates get high marks in the initial test, they will have nothing to say about their experimental skills, comprehensive quality and English ability, so it is impossible to be eliminated. For the two candidates who have almost the same results in the initial test and the same performance in the second test, the tutor has the right to decide, and a word from the second test tutor can change the fate of the candidates.
Candidates should get in touch with the tutor after the preliminary test results come out, clearly tell the tutor their names and preliminary test results, and look forward to the interview. I think it is not as good as face-to-face communication with my tutor by email or telephone. Face-to-face communication can impress my tutor more. If the tutor is satisfied with the students, the chances of being admitted will be greater. During the interview, you can also consult your tutor for information about the second interview. Meeting with the tutor is a crucial interview, and candidates must not take it lightly. Before meeting, candidates should have an in-depth understanding of the tutor, including research direction, current research topics, hobbies and so on. Pay attention to wearing simple, simple and generous clothes when meeting, giving people a clean feeling. Girls should not wear too much jewelry, light makeup or no makeup, shoes should be suitable, and don't wear high heels and shoes with too much noise when walking. Boys should be like boys: clean clothes, short hair and clean beards. When you meet a tutor, you should be generous and polite, listen to the teacher's speech with an open mind, answer the teacher's questions honestly, fully and truly show your personal ability, and avoid boasting and praising others at will. Graduate students work for tutors, and tutors like students who are diligent, talk less, do more, are willing to do things and have strong cooperative spirit. Therefore, it is best for the tutor to make the candidates feel that they are diligent, hardworking, easy to cooperate with others, have a strong professional knowledge background and can complete the tasks assigned by the tutor. When we meet for the first time, we should be able to see what kind of students the tutor needs and what issues he is willing to talk about. The topic you are talking about should be the topic that the tutor is interested in. The first time I met my tutor, I didn't think it was necessary to give him a gift. If you want to give him something special, the price should not be too expensive, otherwise it may be counterproductive.
Second, the written test of professional theory course
Professional theory courses often take the form of written examination to examine candidates' mastery of professional knowledge in this subject. The examination questions will not be difficult, but they may cover a wide range and be flexible, and these knowledge candidates have not reviewed for a long time and are not familiar with them. During the period before the second interview, candidates should systematically review the reference books designated by related majors in relevant institutions. Many teachers in the re-examination group are classroom teachers, so it will be helpful to look at the students' notes and the papers of the mid-term and final exams.
.
The comprehensive examination of postgraduate specialized courses with a scientific degree has the examination of experimental skills. To examine the basic experimental skills of candidates, which are necessary for graduate students to engage in research work. For example, students who do microbiology experiments should know the correct use of balance, the correct cleaning of test tubes and measuring cylinders, the correct use of sterilization pots, and the correct separation of fungi and bacteria. Some candidates, especially those who take the postgraduate entrance examination, get good results in the initial examination, but they are often eliminated because of poor experimental skills in the second interview. Candidates with high scores and low abilities should pay special attention to the examination of experimental skills. In addition to reading the basic experimental operation procedures, it is better to do it by hand and go to the relevant laboratory for help. Some details that should be paid attention to in the examination of experimental skills. If the test items return to their original positions, keep the table clean and tidy.
Third, the comprehensive quality interview
In order to get a more comprehensive understanding of candidates, investigate candidates' mastery of other knowledge and skills other than professional courses, understand candidates' professional knowledge background, scientific research potential, interests and specialties, and comprehensively analyze things ability and ideological and moral quality, a comprehensive quality interview is arranged. The interview will be recorded and comments and scores will be given on the spot.
The comprehensive quality interview is generally presided over by five or six tutors of this major, and students answer questions in order, which can be ranked according to their grades or conducted at random. In order to perform well in the comprehensive quality interview, candidates should understand the major scientific research projects that the tutor is undertaking or has completed, understand the main research fields of the tutor, carefully read the research papers published by the tutor in authoritative journals, and understand the relevant knowledge; Candidates should go to the library to consult the authoritative journals of this major in recent years to understand the development direction, research hotspots and main viewpoints of this major; Candidates should consult the graduate students of this major about the re-examination in that year and understand the ways and means of comprehensive quality interview. Before the interview, you should prepare a brief self-introduction, including the tutor you applied for, the professional knowledge you have studied, the scientific research achievements you have obtained, your English level, hobbies, specialties, personality, etc. Self-introduction should be concise, at the same time, we should seek truth from facts, and avoid exaggerating. At the same time, some possible problems should be prepared in advance. For example, why did you apply for this major? What subject do you want to do after graduate school? What's your plan? What if the tutor asks for an extension of graduation? Whether to give up research in the face of potential dangers, etc. These questions were drawn up in advance by the re-examination team and randomly asked during the interview. There is no unique answer to these questions, and the purpose of asking questions is not to examine how much knowledge students know, but to observe students' comprehensive quality through their answers. How to answer? I think the best way is to change your role and imagine what kind of graduate students you want to recruit if you are a tutor. I think it must be an honest, steady, practical, capable and dedicated student.
During the interview, candidates should pay attention to simple and generous clothes, knock at the door before entering, and greet the interview teacher with a smile behind the door. Be polite, modest, decisive and concise when answering questions.
Fourth, foreign language proficiency test.
Postgraduate entrance examination and re-examination all schools will involve English tests, mainly to examine candidates' listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation abilities. Pay special attention to candidates' practical English application ability, listening and oral expression ability. Candidates should be able to understand and answer the teacher's questions, and be able to communicate orally on designated topics, which is basically not difficult.
Candidates will generally make a brief self-introduction after entering to enter a good examination state, which usually takes one to three minutes. To be prepared before the exam, you can introduce your name, graduate school, major, hobbies, specialties, plans after graduate school, etc. Sentences don't need to be too long, sentence patterns are changeable, words are used correctly and pronunciation is accurate. Then the tutor asks questions and the students answer them. Problems can be related to professional knowledge or problems in daily life, study and work. I think the latter is more likely. The time for oral English communication is very short, so candidates must not be nervous and fully reflect their true level. There is also an assessment method in which candidates take a topic and express their opinions. This topic is often familiar to candidates, such as whether to give money to so many beggars in the street. Should graduate students charge? Advantages and disadvantages of college students buying personal computers. Candidates look for suitable words on these topics, quickly form a coherent language and express it fluently. Candidates should pay attention to accurate pronunciation, proper words, correct grammar, coherent content and changeable sentence patterns in the oral examination. Answer questions quickly and don't pause for too long.
Postgraduate English exams often have professional English exams. This kind of investigation can be carried out in the comprehensive examination of professional courses, such as writing a summary of several original professional English texts for candidates, or translating a sentence or a paragraph. You can also make an investigation in the oral exam, for example, choose a passage from the original works of foreign language majors, and let the candidates read it silently or aloud and then translate it. This kind of professional literature is not difficult and unbiased. As long as candidates know some professional vocabulary, they can correctly analyze sentence structure.
