Brief introduction of Wu Yaozu.

Wu Yaozu, Wu Yaozu (Fluid Mechanics). 1946 Graduated from the Aviation Department of Jiaotong University (now the predecessor of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi Jiaotong University). 1948 received a master's degree from Iowa State University, and 1952 received a doctorate from California Institute of Technology. He is an academician of the American Academy of Engineering and the Academia Sinica of Taiwan Province Province. In 2002, he was elected as a foreign academician of China Academy of Sciences.

Academician Wu Yaozu's original work in water wave dynamics and other fields is not only a milestone in enriching fluid mechanics, but also has an important influence in applied mathematics, biomechanics and other fields. Senior Wu has long been concerned about the development of the school and has given valuable support and guidance to the development of related disciplines in our school.

Mr. Wu's other honors include Fellow of Commonwealth Research Institute of Australia, Fellow of National Association for the Promotion of Science of Japan, Honorary Fellow of Institute of Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lifetime Achievement Award of Chinese Science and Technology Society of Southern California.
