The aim of the association is to rely on the collective strength of member units and industries to accelerate the development of China's communications industry; Safeguard the interests of member units and the whole industry; Give play to the auxiliary role of government departments in implementing industry management; Carry out exchanges and cooperation with relevant foreign organizations; Promote the economic development of the whole industry and the continuous improvement of technology, management and efficiency.

The competent business unit of the Association is the Ministry of Information Industry. Carry out industry management, information exchange, business training, international cooperation and consulting services under the guidance of the Ministry of Information Industry. The main objectives are to promote technological progress in the industry, improve product quality, strengthen economic and technological cooperation between enterprises and institutions, promote alliances, and improve the quality and economic benefits of member units; Promote communication products to meet the growing demand at home and abroad and improve their competitiveness in the international market.

The association implements a group membership system. China Putian Information Industry Group, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., ZTE, Datang Telecom, Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Dongfang Communication, Konka Group, Founder Technology, TCL Communication, Haier Communication, Ningbo Bird, Shenou Communication, Hongtu Jiahe, Capital Group, Amoi Electronics, Guangzhou Jin Peng, Lenovo Mobile and Hisense Communication are all important members of the Association. The Council of the Association consists of more than 30 units including China Putian Information Industry Group Corporation.
