Yangzhai Ancient Pagoda is located in Yangzhai Village, Yangzhai Town, Zichuan District, Zibo City. Originally a Buddhist pagoda temple, it is the main building of Longshan Temple. 1984 has been designated as a municipal key cultural relics protection unit. Now it is a key cultural relic protection unit in Shandong Province.
Yangzhai Ancient Pagoda is an octagonal seven-level pavilion-style brick tower with a height of18m and a base circumference of 21.9m.. There is a stone Buddha on the upper and lower floors. Above the tower gate, there is a stone tablet engraved with the words "Amitabha".
There is no textual research on the construction age of the ancient pagoda. There is no data to prove when the ancient pagoda was built, and it is considered as a monument of the Ming Dynasty. In terms of architectural modeling and style, it is very consistent with the Ayurveda of Christina Temple in Lianyungang built in Song Dynasty, while the temple configuration is exactly the same as that of Saga Pagoda of Buddha Palace Temple in Yingxian County, Shanxi Province and White Pagoda in Qingzhou, Inner Mongolia built in Liao and Jin Dynasties. According to this inference, Yangzhai Ancient Pagoda should have a history of nearly a thousand years.
