2. After the information collection is completed, the parties concerned sign the confirmation form, and they can get a new certificate from the public security organ one month later. If it is urgently needed, it can be expedited and delivered to the designated place by the postal department within 10 working days. If it is necessary to apply for bank card business or purchase train tickets or plane tickets during the registration period, the parties concerned may apply for temporary id card on the spot or issue relevant household registration certificates. Temporary id card and household registration certificate have the legal effect of ID card within the validity period, but you can't buy tickets by credit card without magnetic stripe and chip.
Legal basis: Article 12 of the National Identity Card Law of People's Republic of China (PRC). When a citizen applies for a resident identity card, the public security organ shall handle it in a timely manner in accordance with the regulations. The public security organ shall issue resident identity cards within 60 days from the date when citizens submit the registration form of resident identity cards; In areas with inconvenient transportation, the processing time may be appropriately extended, but the extension time shall not exceed thirty days. Citizens who urgently need to use their resident identity cards during the application, renewal and replacement of their resident identity cards may apply for temporary resident identity cards, and the public security organs shall handle them in a timely manner in accordance with regulations.
