If you have no intention to continue to support the Buddha statue, then the temple is the best destination for the Buddha statue! Clean it up respectfully (don't do it backwards) and send it back to the temple: 1. Send it to the circulation office. 2, choose the height outside the temple, please go!
If it is a folk god (fairy), it is not recommended to send it to a temple. If all things that the world does not worship are sent to the temple, the temple will have no right to dispose of them. You can consider becoming attached to others! If there is nowhere to be attached, you can send it to the temple and remember to support the three treasures before you leave.
If it is an icon of other religions, you can consult the relevant churches, mosques and so on.
Remember: No matter which religious icon you are, you should be respectful and don't leave at will. If not, send it back to its original place!
