Overview of silk painting;
Silk painting is a form of traditional painting in China. It draws patterns and images on silk (cloth), and is mostly used to draw murals, screens, light screens, hanging screens, shawls and other decorations. Silk painting originated in ancient times and can be traced back to the Qin (Han) Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty was the heyday of silk painting and became the representative of the first art in China. Silk painting in Tang Dynasty mainly shows the theme of religion, myth, history and literature of the missing party, which has strong characteristics of the times and cultural connotation.
Silk painting in Song Dynasty paid more attention to the expression of form and skill, forming a unique "Song painting style". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, silk painting gradually became an important form of expression of palace art and folk art, forming two schools with unique characteristics: "palace silk painting" and "folk silk painting". Modern silk painting, on the other hand, pays more attention to innovation and the expression of individuality, which combines various styles and techniques and presents rich and colorful artistic characteristics.
