Detailed information of Xiaobei main stream of the Yellow River

The Yellow River starts from Hekou Town, Tuoketuo County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and flows from east to south until Tongguan, where it joins the Weihe River. The reach from Hekou to Tongguan is called the north main stream. There is a Longmen Town (also called Yumenkou) in this section of the river. From Hekou Town to Longmen Town, the main stream of the Yellow River is located in the Shanxi-Shaanxi Gorge, with a large drop and rich hydraulic resources. We call this section "the main stream of Dabei". The Yellow River goes out of Longmen and into the open area. Due to the slow flow rate and the tail of Sanmenxia reservoir, the sediment deposition in this reach is more serious. "Xiaobei main stream" refers to the reach from Longmen (Yumenkou) to Tongguan, which is the difficulty in harnessing the Yellow River.
