There are two authoritative and recognized piano grading institutions in China, one is the grading of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the other is the grading of the China Musicians Association. In the international professional examination, Imperial University Entrance Examination (CET-8) includes three levels: junior professional, advanced professional and academician. Getting a professional junior certificate is equivalent to having a bachelor's degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and an advanced one is equivalent to a master's degree.
The public exams are all at (amateur) level, with the highest level of 9 (Central Academy of Fine Arts), depending on whether you learn this major or not. Because grading (amateur) is held by the Central Academy of Fine Arts/Music Association, not the students' examination in their college, but all belong to (amateur). If you want to take the professional level, you can only take the Central Conservatory of Music and other professional music colleges.
