What do giraffes like to do?

In addition to a pair of big eyes, giraffes are also natural "watchmen" who monitor the enemy. They will keep turning their ears to find the sound source until they conclude that they are safe. Giraffes like to eat the leaves of big trees and the tender leaves of some hydrous plants. Its tongue can reach more than 50 cm when stretched, and it is extremely dexterous and convenient to eat leaves.

Habitat in tropical and subtropical savanna, scrub, open acacia woodland, arid and open savanna in Africa and semi-desert with few trees. It is a herbivore and feeds on leaves and branches.

Giraffes live for about 27 years in the wild, and those in the zoo can live for more than 29 years. Native to Africa, mainly distributed in eastern transvaal province, natal province and northern Botswana from sub-Saharan to South Africa.

Extended data:

Giraffes walk leisurely, with one forelimb forward and the other forelimb touching the ground. This is a common way of movement for large quadrupeds, such as elephants walking in this way.

But giraffes can run short distances at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour when attacked by the enemy. The running posture is awkward, and the front and rear legs alternately land. Giraffe's heart is too small to run long distances.

Male giraffes are "aggressive" and often use their necks as weapons in combat. This behavior is called neck bump. This behavior is used to establish a dominant position, and the stag who wins the neck strike has a greater reproductive success rate.
