Chen Wenshan, a well-known domestic maternal and child care expert and head nurse of Beijing Meizhong Yihe Women and Children Hospital, and Xu Suzhen, the first domestic delivery tutor certified by Lamaze International Organization and an expert from the Medical Education Center of Beijing Meizhong Yihe Women and Children Hospital, gave guidance to new mothers on what conditions are not suitable for breastfeeding:
Although the advantages of breast milk are self-evident, they sometimes need to be considered. Because many bacteria, viruses and drugs are secreted from milk, if these substances that can enter the milk are harmful to the baby's health, then breastfeeding is not the best choice at this time.
Mother is HIV-positive;
The mother has untreated tuberculosis;
When the mother takes drugs that may endanger the baby, such as radioactive drugs used for medical research or treatment;
Mother uses drugs such as heroin, cocaine or methamphetamine;
When the mother receives high-dose methadone treatment;
When the mother underwent large-scale breast surgery, making it almost impossible for the baby to breastfeed;
When the baby suffers from galactosemia and it is difficult to digest the sugar in the milk;
When the mother feels uncomfortable and unhappy about breastfeeding, she has an aversion.
