Zhejiang Ocean University is a university approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and it is one of the key universities in Zhejiang Province. The school was founded in 1958 as Zhoushan Fisheries College, renamed as Zhejiang Fisheries College in 1975, and merged with Zhoushan Normal College in 1998 to form Zhejiang Ocean College.
