Discussion on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Intestinal Flora

On Traditional Chinese Medicine and Intestinal Flora —— Interaction with Liu Jiaoshou of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine

Liu Jiaoshou's message:

For many Chinese medicines you mentioned last time (which are not absorbed by human body), if they are not confidential, you can tell me as many names as possible. I want to see if there is any regularity from the perspective of Chinese medicine.

I have some questions for you.

1.? Is there a biological relationship between intestinal flora and human body? Or parasitic relationship?

2.? Has the intestinal flora formed in the mother's body (non-pathological state)? If so, does the flora come from the mother, fertilized eggs or others?

3.? Are you not hungry because of intestinal flora?

Information Responder: Zhang, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (College of Life Sciences)

1, if the * * * relationship is formed after birth, it is more in line with TCM cognition.

l? A: There are two levels here. First, human mitochondria exist in egg cells (before fertilized eggs are formed) and originally originated from bacteria (α-Proteus) 2.4 billion years ago. Although mitochondria are organelles in human cells, they are essentially microorganisms, which are equivalent to the * * * state before birth, and only belong to the * * * relationship in human cells, which may be related to "innate endowment". Of course, the human genome DNA system provided by parents is definitely the key to "innate endowment"; Second, the human body's * * * microorganisms are formed after birth, mainly intestinal flora, including microorganisms born in the skin, respiratory tract, genitourinary tract and other parts. Therefore, the biological relationship between microorganisms and human body actually includes two levels (realized through two involution processes). One is the innate biological system inside human cells (congenital involution, mitochondria were "involuted" into cells by nature 2.4 billion years ago), and the other is that after human birth, it covers the inner and outer surfaces of human body.

2. If hunger comes from the intestinal flora, and the intestinal flora is formed after birth, then not hungry does not necessarily come from the intestinal flora?

l? Answer: this is also possible, but now we need to deepen our understanding of the intestine. According to our research, the intestine, as an important organ of the human body, probably exists to meet the specific functional needs of the human body, that is, the intestine is used to sense the stimulation signals in the internal space of the intestine, mainly food, intestinal flora and, of course, temperature (for example, drinking too hot or too cold water is easy to stimulate the gastrointestinal tract), which is similar to that the eyes are used to receive and perceive light stimulation, the ears are used to receive and perceive sound stimulation, and the skin is used to receive and perceive mechanical pressure. Because the intestine is located in the human body, it is not easy to study it directly. Therefore, we use the method of disproof and reverse engineering technology to eliminate the signal transmitted by intestinal flora to human intestine through flexible grain breaking technology. The human body shows a state of not being hungry, although sometimes it feels greedy. Therefore, hunger does not necessarily come from intestinal flora, but intestinal flora certainly plays a key role in the source of human hunger, thus forming the understanding that "hunger comes from flora" and further putting forward the theory of "microbial heart". At present, according to a large number of research data, we tend to think that "intestinal flora may be the source of human hunger and the first driving force of human hunger and feeding". This understanding also conforms to the scientific logic and aesthetic principles of human body design in nature.

3. About Gegen Qinlian Decoction: ① The original treatment of this prescription is due to heat and dampness, which is located in the large intestine and related to the lungs; The pathogenesis is heat trapping the large intestine, or exterior heat. ② Type 2 diabetes in western medicine is similar to that in traditional Chinese medicine. ③ Radix Puerariae and Rhizoma Coptidis can treat diabetes, and the compatibility of Radix Puerariae, Scutellariae Radix, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Scutellariae Radix and Rhizoma Coptidis is also commonly used in treating diabetes. ④ The heat-clearing effect of this prescription on large intestine may be related to the regulation of intestinal flora. ⑤ This prescription is only applicable to some diabetic patients (type 2 diabetes).

l? Answer: Yes, the therapeutic effect of Gegen Qinlian Decoction on diabetes is closely related to the intestinal flora (see the work of Professor Zhao Liping and Academician Tong Xiaolin), and one of the important components, berberine, has an important inhibitory effect on some flora. If we look at "the living body of human bacteria", then we can see that Chinese medicine achieves the therapeutic effect and mechanism by regulating the flora on the human body.

4. Berberine: ① Although it is extracted from Rhizoma Coptidis, it does not have the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine. ② Although it is not a traditional Chinese medicine, it is related to the traditional Chinese medicine Rhizoma Coptidis. ③ The efficacy and taste of Rhizoma Coptidis can be used to treat some diabetic patients.

l? Answer: Indeed. In the future, we can consider studying the relationship between intestinal flora and Chinese herbal compound (multi-component) in health and different chronic diseases from the perspective of microecology, which may provide an important explanation for explaining the mechanism of Chinese herbal medicine.

5. About Morinda Officinalis Oligosaccharides: ① Extracted from Morinda Officinalis, which has no characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, but is related to Morinda Officinalis. (2) If it only acts on the intestine, can it explain the pathogenic wind of Morinda officinalis?

l? A: Morinda officinalis Oligosaccharide in the treatment of depression is closely related to intestinal flora and intestine. Combined with the previous research on "Medical Genetics 2.0", that is, "the main cause of human chronic diseases may be the genetic abnormality of human microorganisms first, and then the genetic abnormality of human beings", and combined with "the heart is opposite to the small intestine, and the lung is opposite to the large intestine", this paper explains the theory of viscera from the perspective of human bacteria.

6. About many Chinese medicine ingredients not entering the blood: ① the defects of western medicine theory itself. ② There are two theories in TCM: Qi and blood.

l? Answer: Yes, if the human body is regarded as a combined system of "bacteria * * *", it is possible to supplement and improve the views of western medicine and Chinese medicine that the human body lacks systematicness, wholeness and wholeness, which is also the quaternion vector model of human body structure and function (z = a+b * i+c * j+d * k; a=DNA-OS/ 1、b=DNA-OS/2、c=DNA-OS/2.0 1、d = Symbol-meme-OS/3; I2=j2=k2=- 1) "is also the reason why Chinese medicine has recently formed the idea of" people in a broad sense "(that is," people in a quaternary way "), rather than" people in a narrow sense "(that is, people who pay attention to the human body and the brain itself and ignore the intestinal flora and mitochondria). We look forward to a more scientific argument from a mathematical point of view and a lot of research to prove it. After all, experiment is the only criterion for testing truth.

I look forward to further discussions, exchanges and interactions, and common learning and progress.
