Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve is located in Zhangzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in the south section of Minshan Mountain in northwest Sichuan Province. It is located in the northeast of Gongganling, the southern section of Minshan Mountain, with the geographical coordinates of103 46'14 "-104 5' 3" and 32 54' 65438 north latitude. More than 400 kilometers away from Chengdu, it is a large branch ditch at the source of Baishui River in the upper reaches of Jialing River in the Yangtze River system, with a total area of 65,074.7 hectares.
Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve has four scenic spots, namely Shuzheng Valley, Zechawagou, Rizegou and Zharugou, which are divided into many scenic spots, with the water features of the plateau travertine lake group, travertine waterfall group and travertine beach stream as the main body. The waterscape is large in scale, numerous, beautiful in form, exquisite in appearance and good in environment.
Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve has a forest coverage rate of over 80%, with 38 species of lianas and 74 species of rare plants under state protection. Terrestrial vertebrates 122 species, including mammals 2 1 species, birds 93 species, reptiles 4 species and amphibians 4 species. Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve is the core and corridor of the giant panda population in Minshan Mountain.
With a typical natural ecosystem, it is one of the cores of biodiversity protection in China. Rich in animal and plant resources, it has high ecological protection, scientific research and aesthetic tourism value. Jiuzhaigou is a national geological park with calcified lakes, beach flows, waterfalls, karst water systems and forest ecosystems as its main protection objects, which has high scientific research value.
Jiuzhaigou is a world natural heritage, a national key scenic spot, a national AAAAA tourist area, a national nature reserve, a national geological park and a network of world biosphere reserves. It is also the first nature reserve in China with the main purpose of protecting natural scenery.
