Xi 'an, referred to as "Gao", was called Chang 'an and Haojing in ancient times. It is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi Province. It is the capital, sub-provincial city, megacity [133] and national central city of Shaanxi Province.
The core area of Xi metropolitan area, the core city of Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration, an important central city in western China approved by the State Council, and an important national scientific research, education and industrial base.

Xi 'an is located in the middle of Guanzhong Plain, bordering Weihe River in the north and Qinling Mountain in the south. Since ancient times, Xi 'an has been known as "Eight Rivers Around Chang 'an", [154] is between east longitude107 40'-109 49' and north latitude 33 42'-34 45'.
It belongs to warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate. Xi is a "world famous historical city" determined by UNESCO 198 1. [8] It is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation, and the starting point of the Silk Road. In history, 13 dynasties established their capitals here.
Xi is the best tourist destination in China and one of the cities with the most international image in China. There are two of the six heritages listed in the World Heritage List, namely, the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang and Terracotta Warriors, Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Daming Palace Site in Chang 'an City in Tang Dynasty, Weiyang Palace Site in Chang 'an City in Han Dynasty and Xingjiao Temple Tower.
