The first part is the cognition of six thinking hats.
What are six thinking hats?
"Six thinking hats" is the most effective thinking training developed by Dr. Edward de Bono, which is popular in western business circles. It provides a tool for "parallel thinking", thus avoiding wasting time arguing with each other.
What problem can two or six thinking hats solve?
Its main function is to establish a thinking framework for people, and to think according to specific procedures under this framework, thus greatly improving the efficiency of enterprises and individuals, reducing conference costs, improving creativity and solving deep-seated communication problems.
It provides powerful management tools for many countries, enterprises and individuals. In practical application, it played a great magic: it slowed down the meeting time by 80% at once; Turn Gankun around and turn the Olympic Games, which had been losing money before 1984, into a money-making machine; In the "mad cow disease crisis" sweeping Europe, a factory can laugh at the situation. All these changes depend on the "six thinking hats".
What is the core of the thinking hat?
The core of "six hats thinking method" lies in the application of "six hats" representing six different thinking methods. Now, let's take a look at these six magical hats:
White thinking hat: white is neutral and objective. Represents facts and information.
Red thinking hat: Red is the color of emotion. Point to our feelings, intuition and hunches.
Green thinking hat: When spring comes, green is a wonderful color. That's the color of creativity.
Blue thinking hat: Blue is the color of the sky, covering all fields. Control the whole process of things.
Yellow thinking hat: Yellow is an optimistic hat. It represents a logical positive view.
Black thinking hat: Black is a gloomy color. It means warning and criticism.
A new cognition of four pairs of six hats-super communication
The level and depth of your application are different, depending on your different understanding of a thing. What kind of cognition you have determines what kind of application you have. You define the idea of six hats as a thinking tool, which is a kind of thinking application and training. Similarly, today we define six-hat thinking as a powerful communication skill, hoping to solve communication problems in work and life with six-hat thinking;
The second part of the six thinking hats-super communication skills
Five steps of communication with six hats
Through the author's cognition and practice summary, the idea of streamlining the six-hat communication skills came into being. Any complex problem or skill, as long as it is simplified or refined, will become simple and easy to use, and it will become endless fun to use. First of all, the five steps are as follows:
The first step is to clarify the purpose of your communication.
In this process, you should understand the object of communication and understand the problems of the object of communication; Is to help him solve a problem; Still want to suggest that he take action; Or the act of completing a transaction in sales; In other words, there is a process of problem definition;
The second step is to create a six-cap sequence.
Design your six-hat sequence according to your goal and the final result you want to achieve. In other words, everything is result-oriented, and the premise of designing six hats is to have a deep understanding of each of the six hats;
The third step is the problem transformation of six-cap sequence.
Show your understanding of the six hats naturally by asking questions, and it is best to let the other person feel that you are using skills. Six hats just tell you a direction of thinking. What kind of questions and how to ask them all depend on your personal transformation ability.
Step four, use it and listen effectively.
When you are familiar with the above steps, you can use it. It has a wide range of applications because it is a communication skill. You know, in today's society, communication is everywhere. Here you can also use some communication skills to build trust and tolerance, such as effective listening, moderate praise and affirmation; By using it, you will get a lot of information, and you will also feel infinite fun and sense of accomplishment.
The fifth step is rectification and in-depth communication.
In the process of asking questions, he may not be able to give all the answers you want. Therefore, our communication should be result-oriented, and the purpose of error correction can be achieved through repeated questions. Only by constantly asking questions and correcting mistakes can your communication purpose be achieved more easily;
The principle of communication technology using two or six hats
1. The problem is the converter of thinking;
Human thinking is guided by asking questions. Whether a person is positive or negative depends on the questions he asks himself. It is also a rainy day, and negative people are telling themselves that they can't do this or that today because of the rain, and they are counting their losses caused by the rain. Positive people are asking themselves, what meaningful things can I do and what I will gain soon.
People can't wear two hats at the same time;
Don't let your brain get bigger. You should know that you are a guide from beginning to end in the whole communication. Don't expect to wear two hats for each other at the same time That's impossible, because people can't think in two different directions at the same time.
3. Pay attention to flexibility when asking questions;
Your question is very important. If your question makes others feel stressed or impatient, I'm sorry, you will never achieve the purpose of communication. I suggest you learn the basic knowledge and skills of communication first, and then learn these five steps. But remember, don't hang yourself from a tree. You can ask a question in another way, or just change one or two words, and the question will pass and the answer you want will pop out of the other person's mouth.
Three case studies-the application of six-hat communication;
Once my colleagues and I finished the training of Super Leadership Training in Mianyang, and the host Xiao Yang came to communicate with me, hoping that I could point out the shortcomings of the host and improve it. I used the six-hat communication technique and kept asking questions all the time, which deeply solved his problem; Now the whole process is briefly introduced as follows:
Ok, the activity introduction is over, let's start using this magical six-hat communication skill.
The first step is to clarify the purpose of communication.
Help Xiao Yang to analyze himself, find out the shortcomings in hosting, and constantly improve his hosting ability. I boil down to one sentence: lack of understanding, seeking improvement methods;
The second step is to create a six-cap sequence.
In fact, there are skills and principles to establish the six-hat sequence (this is introduced in detail in my article "Super Six-Hat Communication-Six-Hat Sequence"). You can know from the following questions that I use a long sequence (all six hats). That is, red, white, yellow, black, green and blue. Don't underestimate this sequence. It is a very practical logical connection. Here I habitually name it coaching sequence or consulting sequence. In a sense, this sequence can be called coaching technique, but it pays more attention to rules and techniques.
The third step is the problem transformation of six-cap sequence.
The whole process of communication and dialogue is as follows:
1. Can you make a simple self-evaluation? How did you feel about hosting this time? (red hat thinking)
A: I feel ok, and I feel that everyone is still satisfied and recognized;
2. Can you give some examples or data to prove that your feelings are right? Try to name three, okay? (white hat thinking)
A: First, two colleagues came down to encourage me and praised me for being better than before. Second, I let the students laugh a few times, and I can see that it is natural; Thirdly, at last, 6-7 students took the initiative to shake hands with me, and some even exchanged business cards with me.
3. What positive factors (benefits) do you think this trusteeship has brought to you personally and what help has it given you? (yellow hat thinking)
A: There are many benefits. I have exercised my language organization ability, impromptu speech ability, field control ability and emotional control ability.
Q: What do you think are the good places? In other words, where can we inherit and carry forward? (yellow hat thinking)
A: The hosting activity process I designed is systematic and can be copied. Secondly, the fiery field activities and ice-breaking games I adopted quickly relaxed the students and narrowed the distance, and the effect was beyond my expectation; In addition, my carefully designed opening remarks have played a very good role in shaping the value of teachers, tapping the needs of students and mobilizing their enthusiasm and participation;
4. Similarly, what do you think are the shortcomings or areas that need improvement? You might as well remember it! (black hat thinking)
A: (thinking for about 5 minutes) I think my shortcomings are mainly that I am not passionate enough, not excited enough, and I have not reached the peak; During the break, I didn't consciously contact with students (in fact, this is a good opportunity to establish affinity with students) and … and …
I didn't think he could say it, so I pointed out the shortcomings I saw and asked him: Do you know why the teacher delayed the class for half an hour?
Oh, I see. In the afternoon, the host time was too long, and I broke the ice twice in a row, which took up the teacher's time.
Q: Does this make students feel anything? If you are a student, how do you feel? (black hat thinking)
A: I may think that this host is a bit presumptuous and has poor time management.
5. How to improve the above problems? Is there any good way? (green hat thinking)
A: In terms of passion, I want to learn the methods of self-motivation, and then find an example (I introduced some methods to him, hoping that he would follow the example of the host of the Chen Anzhi organization, and he would gladly accept them). The second one is easy to solve. Take the initiative to communicate actively next time, hehe; In time management, we should not be self-righteous, rehearse before hosting and allocate time in the process.
6. If time can be turned back and this training can be repeated, what do you think can be done better? (blue hat thinking)
A: I would suggest that the training manager hold a meeting before we start the class to make the division of labor more detailed, especially pay attention to the details. Let me tell you about the process I presided over, and I hope you can give me some valuable opinions. I think the overall service quality of our training will be better!
I think everyone should see that the above 1-6 questions are asked in the order of red, white, yellow, black, green and blue, which produces logic, so that the thinking is clear and is conducive to solving problems; Among them, everyone should master a kind of ability, that is, how to effectively transform the six-hat thinking through problems.
The fourth step is to start using effective listening.
As you can see, in the whole communication process, I ask more questions and talk less, which is completely in line with the 80/20 law. In this process, questioning skills are very important, it is the button to change the hat. Listening at the same time, the main purpose is to build trust;
The fifth step is to correct the deviation and ask questions in depth.
In the whole communication process, it is inevitable to answer some irrelevant questions, especially when you use open-ended questions, because closed questions are easy to cause pressure on the other party and it is not easy to build trust. So you can correct the deviation by changing the questions, or ask questions for the second time or more, so as to achieve the purpose of in-depth questioning and in-depth communication.
trifle
Today's world has entered the information age. This era needs communication too much, and 70% of the problems in the business world are caused by poor communication. China has many communication skills handed down from generation to generation, and also many communication skills borrowed from the West. However, we still have a headache about communication. I really hope that the six-hat communication technique can solve some practical problems for everyone. At the same time, I believe that on the basis of mastering the core of six-hat thinking, more skills and tools such as six-hat communication and five steps can be developed. We might as well learn from the Japanese, what is innovation, so that what western scholars study can also shine in the East!
