Why do we Shandong people call cicadas cutting willows?

Shandong people call cicada willow cutting because when cicada lays eggs on willow, the tail needle will cut off the local epidermis of willow, so that the willow branches with eggs will die and land, and their eggs will develop into nymphs in the soil. This behavior makes people associate cicada with willow branch, which has become the name of cicada in Shandong Province.
