In the first year of children's adaptation, I saw more than just exercise. As a career counselor and a young vocational educator, I stand in the perspective of enriching my career and see the growth of my children, which particularly touches me. I was surprised to see that orienteering is the most professional sport, and there is no one.
First, popularize it. What is the use of vocational education? What is the ability to cultivate children? What does it have to do with orienteering?
Orienteering can improve children's five professional abilities:
Self-awareness:
Know yourself and discover your interests, personality, abilities and values. Children constantly refresh their understanding of themselves in orienteering training, especially in competitions. People have unlimited possibilities, and we need to spend a lifetime trying and exploring to know ourselves.
Information processing ability:
In the Internet age, it takes ability to find your own needs in the complicated information.
A small map can include dozens of kilometers of information about Fiona Fang, including houses, terrain, attack points, handrails ... Some information is useful, while others are useless. You should judge your position, your direction, your target, obvious landmarks near the attack point and how to choose the best route according to the information on the map. We must make judgments and decisions in the shortest possible time. This is a process of information processing.
In order to survive in the wild, Bergrill should not only have the necessary personality, but also have rich knowledge: animals, plants, climate, natural laws ... how to get this information? In addition to studying in nature, you can also learn about the place you want to go, its geographical location, economic situation, customs, history and culture through the internet before orienteering begins. ......
Knowledge comes from nature, and we will eventually return to nature to learn.
Planning ability:
Including academic planning, time planning and goal planning.
Regarding academic planning, I will share my child's story later.
Whether it is an individual competition or a team competition, it is necessary to plan the route. In the team competition, it is also necessary to allocate players' card points so that everyone can come back as soon as possible to hand over the baton, which requires the ability of time planning and goal planning.
On the directional report, the time spent by each attack point is clearly recorded. Team members must race against time.
Cooperation ability:
Team orientation requires teamwork spirit. In the orienteering team, children learn to get along with others and cooperate with them, and learn to obey the rules.
Independent ability:
Including problem-solving ability, decision-making ability and adaptability.
Orienteering requires players to complete independently. In this process, no matter what kind of emotions, such as anxiety, confusion, worry, fear, disappointment, despair, loss and sadness, you need to face and adjust yourself.
Decision-making runs through the whole process of sports-choose a good road to go further, or choose to risk getting lost and cross it to save time? Team positioning, how to allocate card points, so that each player can play their own advantages?
In different cities, different villages and different mountainous areas, orienteering is usually carried out in unfamiliar and complicated environments, and different regions have different climates, diets, customs and cultures. Adapting to the environment quickly is the first problem that every player has to solve.
The children of our orienteering team grew up in orienteering.
Children's growth story
Story 1: Expand the horizons of orienteering and actively plan children.
My brother joined the orienteering team in the fourth grade. The first reason is to be accompanied by old friends, and the second reason is to lose weight. I am amazed at my child's perseverance. During the three months of school training, he persisted and achieved the goal of losing weight. His formal training is the Beidou orienteering competition in winter vacation. In the first scene of Zhutang Village, he came back very late and said, "I'm not running." I sat quietly with him for a long time, watching the little boy sobbing and crying at the table tennis table for a long time. He got lost and was found by the teacher.
Orientation has a strange magic. Even if a child experiences the loss of invalid grades, the sadness of being laughed at by junior players, and the loneliness of getting lost in the wild, he can still adjust himself and continue the next game. After eight days of competition, the child persisted.
The child is not a bully in the class, but enters the final exam of the first semester of the orienteering team, although he says, "I only entered with XX." My heart is still very uneasy. I was relieved when I learned the results. On the second day of last semester, I didn't want to go to school because of winter vacation homework's problems. I chatted with him. Asked what career the child wants to pursue in the future, he said that he wants to do professional e-sports. The following is our conversation:
Mom: Why do you want to do this job?
Child: I want to earn more money and help children in mountainous areas.
Mom: How much do you want to earn? 500 yuan can last a year for children in mountainous areas.
Child: When I was in Heyuan (taking part in the Beidou orienteering competition), I saw that it was very poor and wanted to help the children there.
Mom: How are you going to help them? (Mom starts to dream with her children)
Child: I want to build a school ... I have culture classes in the morning and put the content of culture classes in games in the afternoon, so that I can play while studying.
Mom: That sounds good. What equipment does your school have?
Child: teaching building, playground ... computers are like this. ......
Mom: Well, that will cost a lot of money. What's your status?
Child: the headmaster, or the chairman.
Mom: What abilities should a headmaster and chairman have?
Children: ......
(Mom tells the child)
Mom: If you don't go to school now, how can you build and manage a school?
Child: OK, I'll go to school tomorrow.
Every child wants to be excellent, but often lacks the courage to face difficulties and can't find a way. Children are not satisfied with their grades, but they don't want to get points with sea tactics, and they don't want to make up lessons. At the end of last semester, under the recommendation of his club partners, he found himself a tutor and worked hard towards the goal of getting 90 points. What the teacher gives to the children is to solve doubts in class, but also to accompany them mentally.
In the final exam, the child got an A, jumped up with his feet happily and had great confidence in himself. During the summer vacation, he took the initiative to preview the fifth grade mathematics. He said, "I want to study hard."
I never care about my children's homework, because it is their business. But what I have been concerned about is the cultivation of their character, self-discipline, persistence, courage, perseverance, responsibility and friendliness. However, some methods used to motivate them to explore and try are often ineffective.
I once tried to find my dreams with my children, expecting them to plan and manage themselves actively, find a leverage point and incite their energy. However, the child's dream still has not appeared.
Orienteering, but with children, saw the outside world and lit a lamp for children's hearts. In orienteering, children measure the world with their feet. The more they run, the wider the world becomes. Road, extending at the foot, the world is getting bigger and bigger.
Excellence is an inertia, and I believe that children will not stop pursuing Excellence. Children with good character are not bad. Orienteering is to bring children to grow up little by little and become their ideal appearance.
Story 2 The little boy cried-Liu Xiangqi
The child who stood at the table tennis table and sobbed for more than half an hour later learned that it was Liu Xiangqi. In my opinion, it is remarkable that a second-grade child can leave home hundreds of kilometers to attend the eight-day winter camp. However, children are not satisfied with just participating. As an orienteering athlete, he has requirements for himself. Sometimes there is a little distance and a hurdle between ideal and reality to test your patience. The first stop of orienteering, wandering between the village and the mountains, he couldn't find the direction.
It's the first time I saw a child cry for so long. However, this is the first and last orienteering competition.
Two days later, in a barren mountain (I forgot the place name), several children and I couldn't find the No.3 point. Just as we were in the fog, Xiangqi came. He looked at the photo and said affirmatively, "This is it." We climbed that part of the slope and found the third point.
Is this the little boy who is crying? I can't help admiring the child's progress.
Story 3 Li Ziyu-Growing up through Breakthrough
Venue: Huoshan, Heyuan
Huoshan, karst landform and beautiful mountains and rivers. As a orienteering venue, dense thatch and complex terrain test children's skills, physical strength and courage.
There is a point, hidden at the foot of the mountain, which needs to go from the mountain to the foot of the mountain, cross a stream and pass through the thatched grass higher than adults.
It's easier to go up than down, and children are fearless. Only Mizi walked step by step with tears in her eyes, but she still didn't stop. I stayed with her, reminding her to lower her center of gravity, and with the help of the thatch or shrub beside her, I stabilized one foot and then took the other. Small stones rolled down from time to time, which increased Mizi's fear. In this way, step by step, she finally got down to the foot of the mountain.
One day later, in Palm Bay, we met another small slope. This time, I purposely followed at the end to have a good time. Unexpectedly, Mizi said, "Aunt, no need. I have broken through myself. I'm not afraid. I can go down by myself. " Said, and slipped down like a slide.
I remembered what Forrest Gump's mother said to him: Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know which one you are going to get. Orienteering always surprises you, sometimes in running, sometimes in criss-crossing lanes, sometimes at a corner; Sometimes it's the joy of finding a lost finger card from a pile of mud, and sometimes it's the joy of pulling out your feet from canals and swamps ..... We will suddenly find that the child is not the original one, and after repeated breakthroughs, it has broken into a butterfly.
Story 4 Crossing the Road of Dreams-Ji Hua
Ji Hua is also a sophomore. Every child in the orienteering team may have a dream, that is, to get on the podium, holding a golden trophy and hanging a medal on his chest. This is the best part of life.
Ji Hua, the child's heart, may be hiding such a dream.
Every dreamer is an adventurer.
The distance between two points is the shortest in a straight line. In orienteering, choosing to cross can win time, or you may have to take the risk of getting lost.
The routes chosen by the organizing Committee are all based on ensuring safety. The child has no attachments in his heart and begins to try his own dream road. He is always ahead, inexperienced, and sometimes he can't find his way. But he didn't give up, as long as he had the chance, he still tried to cross.
This is a child with faith. The last game is the most difficult and arduous. Almost every point has to cross a mountain. On that day, several grade two children met, and they still chose to cross a steep slope. I was a little worried, but the children said, "I can go up." Say that finish, one by one with both hands and feet to get up, Qihua, still walk in the front. Teacher Jiang's drone, hovering above it, looked at these children.
There is no word "fear of hardship" in the dictionary of directional team children. Because there are goals and dreams.
Story 5 Youth in the Wind-Lin
In the Beidou orienteering competition, I remembered Lin as a child. On the way down the mountain, I saw a running teenager, with vigorous posture, fast speed, steady pace and rhythm, which made me admire: a teenager with the same wind. How much energy is stored in that thin body. He seems to keep the same running speed all the time, as if he will never get tired.
In orienteering, he is a "leader" and a "celebrity". Those junior high school students from other provinces ran after him, and then Lin was long and short, which made him very popular.
When I was in Huoshan, my brother didn't accept his performance. He felt that his grades should be invalid. He didn't even play the finish card and didn't want to play the scorecard. He walked back to the base camp and sat on the side of the road dejectedly, saying nothing. Lin came up to him and said, "You have to face the reality." Hearing this sentence, my heart lit up: this is the child of the orienteering team, which is estimated to be like this. My brother thought about it, got up and played the last card, came back with a scorecard and said happily, "My score is still valid."
In my mind, Lin is an energetic child. When playing dodgeball, he can always avoid the attack and always catch the ball. Playing keys is very flexible and fast. I often think that this child is very talented. Unexpectedly, one day, Mr. Jiang said that Lin and Zhang made their own achievements.
What amazing perseverance these children have behind their proud achievements!
Think about it, a child with the ability of self-cognition, information processing and planning, an independent child, a cooperative child, and a spirit of courage to overcome difficulties and become more and more brave. Do you still have to worry about falling, get up and run?
Fortunately, I met a good teacher who loves orientation, is responsible, passionate and has faith. Not only take children on the road of orienteering, but also accompany their parents to run and grow together.
