So, what does modern peace look like?
Generally speaking, there are about two kinds:
One is offense, and the other is defense.
In addition to the face-to-face competition, the only order for the two is the tower. As we all know, the towers of modern buildings are mostly built for attack. Of course, if there is no chance of winning in the peace process, this tower will become a temporary shelter for the military. Suppose. If the enemy is determined, then they will take the initiative to attack the so-called enemy city.
However, due to the lack of firearms such as guns in modern times, the process of siege will be much more difficult, and both sides will fall into temporary peace, ranging from several months to several years. Therefore, in modern siege, when facing the tall and straight walls, we only need three choices. One is to dig a tunnel, and the other is to find a way to cross the wall more than ten meters high, or you have to face it and destroy the wall.
Moreover, in the siege wars of past dynasties, those who attacked first and did not die all grabbed the flag first, offering a reward or even surpassing beheading.
The reason is very complicated:
First, the siege war is very difficult.
Second, the first person to enter the city can catch a glimpse of the armed forces on both sides. The encouragement of morale and determination and the cultivation of friends' determination are decisive.
In the Tang Dynasty, Zhang Shigui fought with the Emperor of Heaven: "The public is superior to others. He gave his slaves 80 mouths, 1000 pieces of silk and 100 pieces of gold. " Not to mention the current choice, but to say that the property that will be given in the long run is also worth fighting for.
Siege is really not complicated. The longest siege war recorded in history actually lasted for ten years.
That's a Mongolian warrior. They were invincible when they went south, and they encountered difficulties when they hit Sichuan. Because of the situation in Sichuan, they couldn't break through Sichuan. After ten years of peace, they still failed.
As we all know, when attacking a city, the first batch of soldiers often climb the towers with ladders, but the soldiers above naturally don't wait for nothing, but shoot them one by one with bows and arrows, and maybe even throw stones to death. In this process, the first batch of soldiers who climbed up were rarely alive, but why did they prefer to walk in the tiger mountain knowing that there were tigers in it?
There are three reasons for this:
First, they know that they will die whether they can go forward or not. It's better to die grandly on the battlefield than in a cowardly bag.
From ancient times to the present, as long as there is peace, there has always been one side, that is, sending special personnel to monitor whether anyone can go to flee. Once deserters are found, deserters are doomed.
Then, some people will say, since you can't escape, pretend to be dead.
In fact, even if you pretend to be dead, you rarely have time to live. Imagine that in that chaotic peace, the sword has no eyes, and the soldiers just want to go forward and lose the battle. As for what they will step on, no one will care. If, at this time, you play dead and are not killed, you will be trampled to death. What's more, at this time, most soldiers will be more energetic when they see their fire companions fall, thinking about revenge for their fire companions and catching a chance to live for themselves.
So, at this time, they have neglected survival.
There is another most important reason, that is, it is good to play dead and lose the battle in the early stage. If you have lost the battle, the enemy will clean up the battlefield after the war. Of course, although the cleaning of the battlefield is the cleaning of the enemy, they often hand over the work to the prisoners of the other side, that is, pretending to be comrades-in-arms of the deceased. You can think about it. Your own comrades go through fire and water. At first, they were killed and injured, and finally they started with a fiasco. However, at this time, there are still people playing dead, so it is incredible to play dead.
Second, for the sake of prosperity, here are two examples:
1 was a man in the Tang Dynasty named Zhang Shigui. This man was not a very rich and expensive man, but he was the first soldier to attack the city when he went out. Moreover, he succeeded in climbing the tower, so he lost his talent.
The second example is related to Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang. Now when Liu Bang attacked Xiayi, there was a man named Zhou Bo. Because he was the first person to attack the city, he lost his gift. Later, he was chased as a scholar-bureaucrat, which was not enough. At present, he has become the prime minister.
