The Institute of High Energy Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the legal entity of the project, has rich experience in the construction of scientific instruments, successfully built the Beijing Electron Positron Collider and the first 35MeV proton accelerator in China, and has a high-quality scientific research and technical team, which can undertake the theoretical design, mechanical design, equipment installation, debugging and operation of the accelerator, and has domestic first-class technical reserves in the fields of detectors. * * * Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has been engaged in research on neutron scattering applications for more than 20 years. It is an important neutron scattering research base in China and has accumulated rich knowledge and experience in neutron scattering and related neutron physics. In the construction of the target station, the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also has a capable team composed of old, middle-aged and young scientists in this field. Through the pre-research work, a series of important achievements have been made in the key technologies of the target station. In addition, the CSNS project has also adopted the cooperation strategy of strong alliance and complementary advantages with other relevant domestic research units and universities. Many units, such as Chinese Academy of Atomic Energy and Lanzhou Institute of Modern Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, have joined the cooperative ranks, and * * * has contributed to the successful construction of CSNS project.
After the installation is completed, in order to better realize openness and enjoyment, the annual operation plan will be examined and approved on the basis of fully listening to the opinions of the Science and Technology Committee and the User Committee, and the board of directors will supervise the implementation. With the establishment of national laboratories, multidisciplinary research centers based on the device and a wide range of users, CSNS can track the latest experimental methods and achievements in the international spallation neutron application field, independently research and develop, innovate and surpass, make full use of the high performance and expansibility of the device, and make contributions to human science and social progress.
It can be predicted that the completion and operation of CSNS will have a long-term and huge scientific impact and social and economic benefits on southern provinces, the whole country and Southeast Asia.
