Historical origin of flowers and trees in Huangchuan

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the flowers and trees in Huangchuan County were presented as tributes to the imperial court, especially the gardener who retired from the Royal Garden in Beijing during Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, built a home in Huangchuan and planted several Jingui (Bagui) trees. According to the Records of Gwangju, the main flowers and trees planted at that time were roses, osmanthus, magnolia and gardenia. Huajing and China Huajing recorded the authentic origin of Jingui in Zhangjia Garden in Huangchuan. There is also a saying that Chang 'e personally planted laurel trees in Huangchuan, Gong Yue. At present, there are 17 osmanthus varieties in Huangchuan, which makes osmanthus become the top brand product in Huangchuan flower industry. Huangchuan Jingui is the most fragrant osmanthus variety in China, known as the king of fragrant flowers, and it is the first choice for greening and fragrance. 1999, Huangchuan Jingui was planted in the "Yu Garden" of the Kunming World Expo, and in 2005, Huangchuan Jingui was planted in the "Henan Famous Garden" of the 6th Chengdu Flower Expo. At present, the flower and tree industry in Huangchuan is unprecedentedly active and developing rapidly. The county has planted 220,000 mu of flowers and trees, more than 200 families and genera, and more than 2,000 varieties. 1999 huangchuan county was named as "national flower production demonstration base" and "hometown of flowers and trees in China" by the national flower association and the state forestry administration.
