China North-South Railway Trunk Line

The main north-south railway lines in China are as follows:

1: Jingha Passage-Beijing passes through Tianjin, Shenyang and Harbin to Manzhouli, with a total length of 2,344 kilometers. It is composed of the existing Beijing-Qinhuangdao, Jingshan, Shenshan, Shenha and Binzhou lines and the planned Beijing-Shenyang-Harbin passenger dedicated line, which is the main channel for passenger and cargo exchanges between Northeast China and other regions and the traffic lifeline of Northeast China.

2. The eastern coastal passage-from Shenyang to Zhanjiang via Dalian, Yantai, Jiaozhou, Xinyi, Changxing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen and Guangzhou, with a total length of 40 19 km. This channel will connect the Bohai Sea, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta and play an important role in the country's social economy and national defense construction. The passage includes the existing Shenyang-Dalian, Lan Yan, Xuanhang Line, Hangchang Section, Xiao Yong, Xiaying Line, Xiazhang Section, Meikan, Guangmeishan, Sanmao and Lizhan Lines, the Xinchang Railway under construction, the planned Yanda Ferry, Jiaozhou-Xinyi Railway and Wen Ning, Wenfu and fuzhou-xiamen railway.

3. Beijing-Shanghai Passage-From Beijing to Shanghai via Tianjin, Jinan, Xuzhou and Nanjing, with a total length of1.463km. It consists of the existing beijing-shanghai railway and the planned Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, and is the main passage for passenger and cargo exchanges between North China and East China. The entire Beijing-Shanghai line is a double-track line, which is both a passenger express line and a freight heavy-haul line.

4: Beijing-Kowloon Passage-From Beijing via Liaocheng, Shangqiu, Jiujiang, Nanchang and Shenzhen to Kowloon, including Bazhou to Tianjin and Macheng to Wuhan, with a total length of 2,538 kilometers. This passage is one of the main passages for passenger and cargo exchanges in North China, East China and Central South China, and plays an important role in diverting traffic between Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Shanghai.

5. Beijing-Guangzhou passage-from Beijing to Guangzhou via Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha and Zhuzhou, with a total length of 2,265 kilometers. It is the main channel from northeast, north and northwest to south China. Considering the demand of transportation quality in Beijing-Guangzhou corridor, it is necessary to separate passengers and goods as soon as possible.

6. Grand Station Passage-Located at the junction of central and western China, it runs from Datong via Taiyuan (Beitongpu), Luoyang, Xiangfan, Shimen, Yiyang, Yongzhou, Liuzhou, Litang and Zhanjiang to Haikou, with a total length of 3 108km. It is composed of Tongpu, Taijiao, Liu Jiao, Shichang, Gui Xiang, Li Zhan, Yiyang-Yongzhou railway and Guangdong-Shanghai channel, which is one of the main channels for coal transportation to the south in China (Shanxi, Shaanxi and western Inner Mongolia) and the main sea channel for Chinese mainland to the southern port city.

7. Liu Bao Passage-from Baotou to Liuzhou (Nanning) via Xi, Chongqing and Guiyang, with a total length of 30 1 1km. It consists of the existing Baoshen, Xiyan, Xiangpu, Sichuan-Guizhou, Guizhou-Guangxi and Gui Xiang railways and the completed Shen Yan-Xikang railways. It is an important railway passage in the north-south direction in the west of China.

8. Lanzhou-Kunming Passage —— From Lanzhou to Kunming via Baoji and Chengdu, with a total length of 226 1km, it is composed of the existing Longhai Line, Baolan Line, Baocheng Line and Chengkun Line, and is an important passage in the north-south direction of the western region.
