Nanping City is located in the north of Fujian Province. It is adjacent to Jiangshan, Longquan and Qingyuan counties (cities) in Zhejiang Province in the northeast, Zixi, Qianshan and Guangfeng counties (cities) in Jiangxi Province in the northwest, Minqing County in Fuzhou City and Gutian, Pingnan, Zhouning and Shouning counties in Ningde City in the southeast, and Taining, Jiangle, Shaxian and Youxi counties in Sanming City in the southwest.
