Anhui University of Technology is located in Maanshan City, Anhui Province. Maanshan Iron and Steel Industry School, founded by 1958, started, and 1978 was upgraded to Maanshan Iron and Steel Institute. It is the only undergraduate college in iron and steel industry in East China, and 1985 was renamed East China Metallurgical Institute, which belongs to the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry.
