Command information system is the general name of all kinds of information systems that comprehensively use computer-based technical equipment to realize the automation of acquisition, transmission and processing of operational information, and ensure that command agencies at all levels conduct scientific and efficient command and control and management of their subordinate troops and weapons, and have the functions of command and control, intelligence reconnaissance, early warning and detection, communication, information confrontation, security and confidentiality, and related information guarantee.
The military command information system is gradually formed and developed in the process of the continuous evolution of human wars, and it is a whole closely linked from top to bottom according to the military command system. Military command information system is an organic "man-machine" system, which takes military science as a solid foundation, military command system as a construction framework, commanders as the core, computers and other information technology equipment as the premise and material guarantee for its existence.
Command information system composition
Information collection subsystem: It consists of various reconnaissance equipment on the ground, at sea, in the air and in outer space, such as reconnaissance satellites, reconnaissance planes, radars, sonar, remote sensors, etc. It can collect the information of enemy deployment, combat action, battlefield topography, meteorology and so on in time, and provide real-time and accurate information for commanders to make up their minds.
Information transmission subsystem: it is mainly composed of various channels for transmitting information, switching equipment and communication terminals. These parts constitute a multifunctional communication network, which can transmit all kinds of information quickly, accurately, confidentially and continuously. It can be said that communication automation is the basis of operational command automation. Without a developed communication network, it is impossible to realize the automation of operational command.
Information processing subsystem: consists of electronic computer, its input and output equipment and computer software. The process of information processing is to synthesize, classify, store, retrieve and calculate the information input into the computer through various softwares compiled according to the predetermined objectives, to assist commanders in drawing up battle plans, to simulate various plans, to retrieve information, and to process graphics and images.
