Yuquan Mountain, one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Yanjing" since the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, was named "Yuquan Gonghong" and renamed as "Spring Tugboat" in the Qing Dynasty, and was known as "the first spring in the world". The earliest building in Yuquan Mountain is the Furong Hall in Jin Zhangzong, also known as Yuquan Palace.
During the Ming Dynasty, Huayan Temple, Jinshan Temple, Zhenguan Temple and Wanghuting were built in Ming Yingzong.
During the reign of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, it was expanded into a palace on the basis of Furong Temple, formerly known as Cheng Xinyuan. Later, Emperor Kangxi renamed it Jingming Garden.
During the Qianlong period, the large-scale expansion formed the "Sixteen Scenes of Jingming Garden", which was the heyday of Jingming Garden. Among them, Jade Peak Tower Shadow, Tearing Lake Light and Yuquan Tugboat are famous in Kyoto.
Jade Peak Pagoda was built in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. When Emperor Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, he saw the tall and majestic Cishou Pagoda in Jinshan Temple of Zhenjiang, which was deeply admired. He ordered people to draw the tower into a map, and after returning to Beijing, he built this Yufeng Tower on the main peak of Yuquan Mountain. It is also called "Dingguang Tower" because it enshrines the Buddha statue of Dingguang.
Yufeng Tower is an octagonal pavilion-style brick tower with a height of 47.7 meters and a light apricot color, with seven floors above and below. The tower faces south, and the east, west, south and north pavilions on the first, third, fifth and seventh floors open coupon doors, while the other two sides open arch coupon carved windows.
Doorways on the second, fourth and sixth floors are interlaced with them. This staggered layout can prevent the tower from cracking. There is a wooden arch between each floor, which supports the eaves of the brick tower. There is a bell tower hanging under the eaves. The top of the tower is formed by the intersection of eight vertical ridges, with gourd and pearl-shaped copper brakes on it.
There are stone steps in the Jade Peak Tower, and there are three pot door niches on each floor. The couplets on both sides of the niche were handwritten by Emperor Qianlong, but the handwriting was weathered and blurred.
Jade Peak Pagoda is built in the style of Cishou Pagoda of Jinshan Temple, but it combines the climatic and geographical characteristics of the north. There is no guardrail of Cishou Tower in the tower body, and the eaves of each floor are very short, which can resist the fierce wind in the north.
The tall and straight figure of Yufeng Tower is reflected on the water surface of Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace, becoming one of the sixteen scenic spots in Jingming Garden. Emperor Qianlong named this scene "Jade Peak Tower Shadow" and improvised a poem "Jade Peak Tower Shadow".
Huazang Pagoda is an octagonal seven-level white marble pagoda with dense eaves. It is more than 6 meters high. Lengga Cave contains a large number of tantric and cliff statues in Qing Dynasty, which are of great artistic value.
During the Ming Dynasty, Huayan Temple, Jinshan Temple, Zhenguan Temple and Wanghuting were built in Ming Yingzong.
In the heyday of Jingming Garden, there were four stupas with different shapes, such as Yufeng Pagoda and Miaogao Pagoda, which were called "Tashan". Shan Zhinan has courtyards such as "Dagong" and "Enchanting Vientiane".
The glazed pagoda in Shengyuan Temple is the same as the Huacheng Pavilion in the Summer Palace. Shengyuan Temple, located at the western foot of Yuquan Mountain, is a small Buddhist temple with a glass tower standing on the hillside.
This is a glazed brick tower, which combines pavilion tower and dense eaves tower. The tower is an octagon with unequal sides. The four fronts in the southeast and northwest are wider, and the four slopes in the southeast, southwest, northwest and northeast are slightly narrower. The upper and lower levels are divided into 3 groups, with ***7 levels. Tower height16m, the whole tower is inlaid with yellow, green, blue, blue and purple colored glass.
The wonderful tower of the northern peak of Yuquan Mountain, which was built during the Qianlong period, occupies the right place and the right time. The tower is white, the bowl is inlaid with yellow colored glass ribbon, and the golden pagoda brake under the blue sky and white clouds is perfect.
Yuquan Lake has three islands, commonly known as "one pool and three islands". On both sides of the lake are "Yuquan Cong", and the edge of the spring is the imperial monument of "the first spring in the world", which can be described as the place where the landscape of the whole park meets.
There is a mirror lake in Dongshan Scenic Area, which is strewn with pavilions and bamboos, hence the name "listening to the wind". On the east bank of the lake, there is a "green hall" waterside pavilion, and on the west bank, there is a scene of "the shadow mirror contains emptiness". There are "Fenjian Canal" and "Writing Qin Gallery" along the coast of Hunan.
In addition, there is a group of the largest buildings in the park, east-west, with Dongyue Temple in the middle and four courtyards, namely Dongyue Emperor, Wu Tian Supreme and Jade Emperor. There is a "Shengyuan Temple" in the south of Dongyue Temple, which is also a quadrangle. It has four entrances, and the fourth entrance has a glass tower, which is unique.
To the north of Dongyue Temple is the "Liangchan Cave", a small garden. The main hall faces south, with pavilions, platforms, pavilions, pavilions and corridors scattered among rockeries and rocks. This is a group of buildings where Buddhism and Taoism stand side by side, which is the embodiment of the unity of Buddhism and Taoism in that year.
