In order to meet the needs of socialist modernization,1February, 977, the relevant departments of the province decided to restore and rebuild Guizhou University of Finance and Economics in the former site of the Finance and Economics Cadre School. At present, our college has 7 departments, 2 discipline departments, 4 research institutes, 7 undergraduate majors and 2 specialist majors, as well as correspondence department, computing center and audio-visual education center of Night University.
The reform and opening-up policy has given new students to Guizhou University of Finance and Economics and developed rapidly. In order to meet the needs of the four modernizations for multi-level talents, the college has expanded the scale of running a school and broadened the channels and levels of running a school. 1989- 1990 school year, there were 2440 students, including undergraduates 1092, junior college students 168, and correspondence students 1300 at night school.
In order to improve the quality of teaching and scientific research, college leaders are particularly committed to the construction of teachers.
