After his divorce from Li Guyi, in 1988, when Jin was invited to Changsha, Hunan Province as a judge of the national "Golden Dragon Cup" song singing contest, he met the then vocal music teacher of Nanjing Art Institute. At that time, Ma Qiuhua was only 27 years old. They fell in love for more than two years and got married in March of 199 1.
