Yangzhou, known as Guangling, Jiangdu and Weiyang in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province. It is an important part of Jiangsu Yangtze River Economic Belt, a member city of Nanjing Metropolitan Area, a city in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta. There are 15 kinds of mineral resources found in Yangzhou, including 12 kinds of mineral resources with proven reserves. Oil and natural gas reserves rank among the top in the province, and Hanjiang, Jiangdu and Gaoyou are rich in oil and natural gas resources. Shaobo Lake Waterfront and He Lixia Depression are called "Water Town Oilfields".
Clay bricks, quartz sand, basalt, pebbles, mineral water, geothermal and other mineral resources are rich. Yizheng and Hanjiang hilly areas have 200-300 million tons of yellow sand, 65.438+200 million tons of stone and about 300 million tons of pebbles. The prospective reserves of basalt in this city are 250 million tons.
