The arch rib of the main arch is a half-through parallel arch with double ribs and no hinge. The distance between the centers of the arch ribs of the two arches is 34m, the calculated span is 388m, and the axis of the arch ribs rises 74.7m theoretically, so the arch is a broken-line arch. In the design, the arch structure is the main structure and the stay cables are the auxiliary structure system. This kind of steel tube arch structure is the first time in China.

Liancheng Bridge is the fourth bridge across Xiangjiang River in our city. It starts from the intersection of North Second Ring Road and Fuzhou Road in the west and ends at National Road 107 in the east, with a total length of 4,488 meters, including bridge length 1345 meters, west approach road 18 18 meters and east approach road 1325 meters. The bridge is a concrete-filled steel tubular arch bridge with a main span of 400 meters and a bridge width of 27 meters. The total investment of the bridge is 420 million yuan, and the approach roads at both ends are 63 meters wide, with six lanes in both directions. The total investment of the access road is 654.38+55 million yuan.

Liancheng Bridge is an urban bridge across Xiangjiang River on Xiangtan Section of National Highway 320, expressway, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity and the North Second Ring Road of our city. After the completion and opening to traffic, the transit vehicles of National Highway 320 will no longer pass through Xiangtan City, shortening the driving distance by more than 10 km, which has played an important role in reducing the traffic flow, relieving the traffic pressure and improving the environmental quality in Xiangtan City.
