Responsibilities of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: (1) Propose strategies and policies for the development of new industrialization, coordinate and solve major problems in the process of new industrialization, formulate and organize the implementation of development plans for industry, communications and informatization, promote the strategic adjustment and optimization of industrial structure, promote the integration of informatization and industrialization, and promote the construction of a military-civilian scientific research and production system for weapons and equipment.
(2) To formulate and organize the implementation of industrial and transportation industry plans, plans and industrial policies, put forward policy suggestions for optimizing industrial layout and structure, draft relevant laws and regulations, formulate rules and regulations, formulate industrial technical norms and standards and organize their implementation, and guide the quality management of the industry.
(3) Monitor and analyze the operation of industry and communication industry, release relevant information statistically, make prediction, early warning and information guidance, coordinate and solve relevant problems in the operation and development of the industry and put forward policy suggestions, and be responsible for the emergency management, industrial safety and national defense mobilization of the industry and communication industry.
(4) To put forward opinions on the scale and direction of investment in fixed assets of industry, transportation and information technology (including the utilization of foreign capital and overseas investment) and the arrangement of construction funds by the central government, and examine and approve fixed assets investment projects in national plans and annual plans according to the authority prescribed by the State Council.

(VI) Undertaking the responsibility of organizing and coordinating the revitalization of the equipment manufacturing industry, organizing the formulation of plans and policies for the development and independent innovation of major technical equipment, coordinating the implementation of relevant major projects relying on the construction of national key projects, promoting the localization of major technical equipment, and guiding the digestion and innovation of introducing major technical equipment.
