Kaifeng (Bianjing for short), known as Laoqiu and Bianjing in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city in Henan Province.
Kaifeng is located in the middle of China, in the east of Henan, in the hinterland of the Central Plains, on the bank of the Yellow River and adjacent to Zhengzhou in the west. Kaifeng has a total area of 6,239 square kilometers. By the end of 2020, it has jurisdiction over 5 districts and 4 counties. Kaifeng is one of the first national historical and cultural cities, and it is the only capital in the world whose central axis has never changed.
