Preparatory course is a basic course or a bridge course, which belongs to preparatory education before university. Generally speaking, overseas high school graduates study in the preparatory course for about 1 year to adapt to foreign learning methods. Foreign universities generally have preparatory courses or designated colleges to teach preparatory courses. After completing the preparatory course of 1 year, international students can decide whether they can enter the initially chosen institution or transfer to other better universities according to their grades. But these basically happen in Europe or Australia, and there is basically no concept of "preparatory course" in the United States.

Preparatory credits: Now many preparatory courses promise to transfer credits, and promise to study preparatory courses in China and connect with all universities. However, due to the different curriculum system, specialized courses, teachers' proportion, required students' levels and system differences in each university, preparatory courses and American universities can't even connect with the minimum public courses.
