The death of Mr. Zhou Meisheng is a great loss to the acupuncture field. Zhou's academic thought and scientific research road have been valued and supported by relevant leaders. Since 1984, it has been entrusted by the Central Ministry of Health to hold four national moxibustion seminars, and has been invited to hold three national moxibustion seminars at the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as to teach moxibustion courses in international acupuncture classes and several national acupuncture professional classes, which can be said to be all over the world.

"Hot moxibustion is expensive" can be said to be Zhou's great contribution to Chinese medicine and moxibustion. Although some people (Wang Xuetai, Jia Wei) have been distributing moxibustion instruments for fever, it is difficult to recover the decline. Zhou believes that in order to change the wrong idea of avoiding moxibustion and forbidding moxibustion fever and turn it into the correct practice of moxibustion fever, we must choose an acute, dangerous and typical heat infectious disease as an example and convince the opponents in front of the facts. Epidemic hemorrhagic fever, which belongs to the plague category of traditional Chinese medicine, is only the object of choice. During 1985, epidemic hemorrhagic fever broke out in Dangshan, Anhui Province. 297 cases of fever were treated by moxibustion in Zhou, and 97.8% of them achieved good results, thus breaking the old view that moxibustion is not suitable for fever, and laying a solid foundation for moxibustion to treat febrile infectious diseases in the future. Zhou's harvest and scientific research achievements in this field have passed the ministerial appraisal in state administration of traditional chinese medicine, and he has written a monograph "Moxibustion of Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever". Zhou believes that moxibustion is not only effective for all kinds of fever, but also has been clamoring for the revitalization of moxibustion for many years in view of the wrong view and abnormal development that moxibustion cannot be used for fever. He once wrote in his monograph Moxibustion Suo: "Although Sang Yu is late, he still has the heart to serve the country. Moxibustion can flourish, and he is willing to help Qin Ting cry. " We can imagine his ambition and mood of dedicating himself to moxibustion.
