How to design a pigeon house?

If you want to build a suitable pigeon factory, you need to make overall planning and design in the early stage. The overall layout of pigeon factory should meet the production requirements, and the buildings should be designed according to the order of production flow, which is convenient for later management and more conducive to normal production.

First of all, when designing pigeon breeding factory, it should be clearly divided into production and breeding area, life management area and isolation area. The living management area is the area with the most frequent personnel activities, so it is suggested to arrange it in the upwind direction of pigeon breeding factory, and the production and breeding area is the area that should pay the most attention to health and epidemic prevention. Appropriate disinfection facilities should be set up between management areas, isolation areas should be arranged on the lower ground in the downwind direction, and green isolation should be set up between areas with appropriate distance.

Pigeonhouses are important places for pigeons to live and produce. Pigeons must first find a home for themselves. Different from other livestock and poultry breeding, pigeons do not have high requirements for living environment, as long as they are ventilated and light-permeable, warm in winter and cool in summer. In addition, pigeon droppings are relatively dry and can be used as feed and organic fertilizer for raising pigs, fish and flowers after fermentation.

In the construction of pigeon houses, small-scale pigeon farmers can make full use of idle houses, old warehouses, square roofs and courtyard spaces in their homes, and make some improvements to meet the requirements of ventilation and light transmission, warm in winter and cool in summer, which not only makes full use of idle houses, but also reduces the investment in the early stage of pigeon breeding.

Pigeon farmers who have no idle houses or want to raise pigeons on a large scale and industrialization can choose to build their own pigeon houses. Compared with other livestock and poultry breeding, the construction cost of pigeon house is relatively low. The construction of piggery should be considered from the aspects of production, epidemic prevention and convenient management. The planning and design should be carried out reasonably and scientifically, and the layout and construction should be carried out in an orderly and purposeful manner according to the production process while meeting the production process requirements.

The construction of pigeon houses should be combined with the climate characteristics of breeding sites. When building a pigeon house in the cold northern area, it is recommended to use a closed pigeon house with a certain thickness of insulation wall around it, and the front and rear doors and windows of the pigeon house should also be built with insulation materials to prevent thieves from invading. In the hot south, it is more suitable for open dovecotes, with only the roof, iron nets around it, and basically no walls, and nylon woven cloth or thermal insulation film hanging, which can be put down or rolled up according to the weather changes; In the cool south and warm north, semi-open dovecotes with walls on one side and no walls on the sunny side are more common.
