The term "multimodal transport contract" as mentioned in the Maritime Law refers to a contract in which the multimodal transport operator is responsible for transporting the goods from the place of receipt to the destination by two or more different modes of transport (one of which is maritime transport) and collecting all the freight. 3. Contract of Waterway Freight Transportation Coastal freight transportation and inland river freight transportation are collectively referred to as domestic waterway freight transportation. A contract of carriage of goods by water refers to a contract between domestic coastal ports, between coastal and inland ports, and between inland ports, where the freight is charged by the carrier and the goods consigned by the shipper are transported from one port to another by water.
