The Department of Computer Science of Sun Yat-sen University was founded in 1979, which is one of the earliest units in China to recruit undergraduate students majoring in computer science, and also one of the earliest units in South China to recruit master and doctor students majoring in computer science. At present, there are three doctoral programs in computer software and theory, three master programs in computer software and theory, computer application technology and computer system structure, two master programs in computer technology and software engineering, and four undergraduate majors in computer science and technology, network engineering, information security and software engineering, among which computer science and technology is the first batch of famous brands in Guangdong Province.
There are full professors 10 (including 8 doctoral supervisors) and 28 associate professors in the Department of Computer Science. In addition, four famous professors at home and abroad, including Academician Chen Huowang, Academician Chen Guoliang, Professor Wang Jie (USA) and Professor Pan Yi (USA), were employed as part-time professors in our department. More than 60% of full-time teachers have doctoral degrees or are studying for doctoral degrees. In this team, there are not only famous scholars with profound academic attainments, but also a group of young and energetic backbones. In recent years, the Department of Computer Science has enrolled more than 20 doctoral students and 0/00 master students every year.
The computer department has always attached great importance to academic exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad. Many teachers have gone abroad for further study or study. Every year, a group of teachers and students go to famous foreign universities for further study, study or participate in academic activities. In recent years, our department has undertaken a large number of national, provincial and local scientific research projects, including national natural science foundation key projects, national 863 high-tech projects, national key research projects, and key areas of Guangdong and Hong Kong. In 2003 and 2004 alone, it won the National Natural Science Foundation Project 10, and many important application achievements passed the national, provincial and ministerial appraisal and won awards.
In order to adapt to the rapid development of computer science and technology, improve the ability of on-the-job personnel to solve practical engineering problems with application of computer science theory and technology, and cultivate computer-applied and compound senior engineering and management talents, with the approval of the office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, in 2005, our school will recruit students for on-the-job engineering and technical personnel, on-the-job engineering management personnel and on-the-job teachers (those engaged in engineering technology and engineering management at school), and the enrollment quota will be determined by our school itself.
The Computer Science Department of Sun Yat-sen University is specifically responsible for the formulation of the master's training plan and syllabus of computer technology engineering, as well as the daily management. All lectures are given by full-time and associate professors in the Computer Department of Sun Yat-sen University who have the qualifications of doctoral tutor and master tutor.

Second, the main courses
1. Required courses: English, Marxist theory, algorithm analysis and design, computability and computational complexity, program theory basis, modern network technology.
2. Elective courses: software project management, object-oriented technology, system analysis and design, distributed computing, embedded system and application, advanced database technology, data warehouse and data mining, computer cryptography, network and information security, computer-aided design, virtual reality technology, temporal information processing, bioinformatics, etc.
Three. Length of study and degree granting
1, length of study: 3 years of part-time study, with a maximum of 5 years. The teaching time is arranged on Saturday and Sunday.
2. Degree awarding: according to the requirements of the training program, I obtained the required credits through the course examination and passed the thesis defense, and was awarded the master's degree in computer technology engineering with the approval of academic degree evaluation committee.
Iv. application conditions
1. On-the-job engineering technicians and project managers with bachelor's degree, and teachers engaged in engineering technology and project management related work during school.
2. Unlimited working years. However, the accepted students need to complete the postgraduate course and engage in engineering practice for more than 2 years, and complete the thesis in combination with the engineering task before applying for the master's thesis defense.

Step 2 register online
Candidates who meet the registration requirements must log on to the website designated by the relevant provincial authorities through the Internet within the online reporting time specified by the provinces and cities where the registration point is located, and fill in and submit the registration information as required. Candidates who register for the examination in Guangdong Province should register online from July 8 to July 23, 2005 and submit their registration information. Step 3 register on site
After online registration, candidates need to go to the on-site registration point designated by the province and city where the online newspaper is located for on-site registration according to the specified time. Candidates applying in Guangdong Province should register in the West Lake Hall of South China University of Technology from July 25th to 3rd12005 or register in the Graduate Building of Shenzhen University from July 28th to 3rd12005, pay fees, take photos and confirm the registration information. 4. Qualification examination
The qualification examination of candidates applying for Sun Yat-sen University will be conducted before the second comprehensive professional examination. Candidates whose GCT scores have reached the qualified score line stipulated by our school (including those who took the GCT exam in 2004 and reached the qualified score line in 2005, and need to apply for the major) must go to our school for qualification examination. . The specific time and place of qualification examination will be notified separately. At the time of qualification examination, candidates must bring the qualification examination form (in duplicate), ID card, undergraduate diploma and degree certificate signed and stamped by the personnel department of their unit. Candidates who take the 2004 GCT exam must also provide the 2004 GCT exam transcripts and go to the Graduate Admissions Office of Sun Yat-sen University for qualification examination. For candidates who do not meet the registration requirements or provide false information, our school will disqualify them from taking the second-stage professional comprehensive examination. Sixth, the examination method
The entrance examination for engineering postgraduates adopts two-stage examination.
The first stage: entrance qualification examination
The first stage is to take the national entrance qualification examination (GCT) (the GCT scores obtained by candidates are tentatively valid for two years). This stage mainly tests the comprehensive quality of candidates. Candidates can only choose 1 master of engineering training unit to apply for the exam that year. Our school will determine the GCT qualified score line according to the examinee's examination situation.
GCT paper consists of four parts: language expression ability test, basic mathematics ability test, logical reasoning ability test and foreign language (English is the language of our school) application ability test. The GCT test paper has a full score of 400, with each part 100. The examination time is 3 hours, and each part is 45 minutes. GCT's proposition is based on "Guide to Postgraduate Entrance Examination (2004 Edition)" (published by Science and Technology Literature Publishing House).
The second stage: comprehensive testing
Candidates who have reached the passing mark of the entrance qualification examination stipulated by our school are required to take the comprehensive test organized by our school with GCT- My Report Card. Our school will decide whether to admit candidates according to their GCT self-test scores and comprehensive test results.
The comprehensive test adopts a combination of written test and interview. The written test subject is computer network, and the interview mainly examines the potential quality, skills and achievements of students engaged in related engineering technology and project management.
The specific time and place of the comprehensive test will be notified separately according to the contact information submitted by the candidates when they register.
Seven. expense
The tuition fee is RMB 12000 per person per academic year, and the data fee is charged separately according to the data required during the study period.
During the study period, all the students' relations remain in the original work unit, and their wages, living benefits, subsidies and medical expenses are all borne by the original unit. When students return to school, they will take care of their own accommodation and transportation expenses.
