According to legend, in ancient times, the chassis of a Tianchi here was a huge Nanyu, so this lake was also called Nanyu Lake. If you often bathe in the lake, it will make swimmers beautiful and their skin white as jade. So, every summer, the seven fairies of Tiangong float into the lake and bathe all day. One day, the cowherd came here to eat grass and suddenly saw seven auspicious clouds falling from the sky and slowly landing on the lake. With the disappearance of colorful clouds, seven girls as beautiful as flowers and pure as jade appeared. I saw them playing in the water, laughing and singing, and took off their jade clothes. Brother Niu Lang has never seen this appearance before, and he can't help exclaiming in his infatuation. When seven nuns heard peeping tom's voice, they were too surprised to avoid it. I saw a fairy in red spray a mouthful of fairy dust on the lake. In an instant, the fairy dust turned into a floating cloud, just like a group of mushrooms, covering the sky and spreading everywhere, permeating the mountains below Bayu Lake. Since then, it has been foggy all day, hence the name Dawuling. It is said that after the clouds cleared that day, the fairy disappeared from the lake, and only Brother Cowherd stood like a log. However, Brother Cowherd was stupid and fell in love with the fairy in red. This is also his fate, because the South Jade Lake on the earth is so attractive to the fairies in the sky that seven fairies go down to the lake at this time every year. With the perseverance and persistent pursuit of waiting for him, Brother Cowherd finally made the fairy in red move and wanted to stay in this idyllic Nanyu Lake and live a life of farming and knitting sweaters with Brother Cowherd. So there was an eternal legend that the cowherd and the weaver girl met the moon later.
But this is just a fairy tale. Dawuling is foggy all the year round because of its high altitude, low temperature and high humidity. The annual average temperature is 17- 18 degrees, and the average relative humidity is 85%. Dawuling is famous for its unique cloud veil, with strange peaks and rocks, beautiful landscapes such as forest, waterfalls and tianhu, and it is the first choice for mountaineering, forest tourism, hunting tourism and adventure tourism in western Guangdong.
Dawuling is rich in plant species, which is the best preserved natural ecological posture in western Guangdong. The forest area of Dawuling is 246 1 hectare, and the forest coverage rate is 80%. According to the preliminary investigation of South China Agricultural University, there are 34 species of wild plants 1.433, including 34 rare plants, 20 rare and endangered plants under special state protection, and 4 new plants 1.4 not found in other parts of the world. Datianding is the main peak of Dawuling tourist area and is known as the first peak in western Guangdong. If the high-lying Xinyi is the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in western Guangdong, then Dawuling is the Himalayas in western Guangdong, and Datian Peak with an altitude of1.704m is the Everest in western Guangdong. Legend has it that there is a flat land on the east side not far from the top of the mountain, hence the name of this peak.
To the north of the top of the mountain is the TV transmission tower of Guangdong 732 TV differential turntable, where TV channels in western Guangdong and even some parts of Guangxi receive relay signals. There is a dense virgin forest at the top of the field, and the scenery is very beautiful; There are three hills beside the top of the mountain. From a distance, it looks like three cranes, which is very interesting. Known as "Tianhu", the alpine reservoir is surrounded by Cangshan Mountain, with lush trees and a mirror-like lake surface. Whenever the clouds are lingering, the peaks are looming, such as being in a fairyland and watching flowers in the fog.
