Teachers of Hongdao Girls' Middle School

/kloc-in the autumn of 0/929, Zhou Juemei officially became the principal of Hongdao Girls' Middle School. The first thing she faced was a nationwide "campaign to recover the right to education". Hongdao, as a missionary school, must apply to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and formally "file a case" if it wants to survive and obtain legal status. Zhou Jue doesn't know that this is a major event related to the future of the school. His alma mater, Hujiang University, recently completed the formal filing formalities, and now it's his turn to be careless. Zhou Juemei faced up to the difficulties and solved the problems of funding sources, curriculum, teaching staff and teaching equipment one by one. In a short time, she was recognized by the authorities and Hongdao was allowed to "file a case".

After the fall of Hangzhou, Hongdao fell into the hands of the Japanese aggressors. 1945 After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Zhou Juemei was invited by the school board to go to Hangzhou to plan the resumption of school. The first thing to do when you go back to school is to get back the school property. Zhou Juemei went to Hangzhou alone before the Japanese left. As soon as she entered Hongdao, Zhou Juemei found that the school building had been destroyed by the enemy and puppet troops: the doors and windows were broken, the walls were perforated in many places, and the interior was pitted, devastated and chaotic. The original tables and chairs can't be found in good condition. Books, archives, instruments, etc. , are all gone. Seeing this scene, Zhou Juemei did not flinch. She summoned up the courage to live in a dilapidated school building. With the help of two male teachers, Zhou Jue fought hard and got back all Hongdao's school supplies, including seven pianos and one organ each. Later, several pianos were recovered, and the number of pianos reached 17.

The biggest headache for Zhou Juemei is the problem of funds. The100,000 yuan subsidized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education is extremely limited, and others have to find their own way. The puzzled Zhou Jue used his social relations to visit old and new friends and seek sponsorship everywhere. With her efforts, three religious groups, the predecessor of Hongdao, Cai Zhen, Yucai and Huilan Girls' School, each allocated $ 100, and many social elites, gentry, alumni and parents of students also lent a helping hand, raising 9 10/00000 yuan. Zhou Juemei also received several "gifts" from UN relief agencies, such as food, clothes, wood, cement and even four Dutch cows. Hongdao even set up a small ranch with these four cows, which was provided to kindergartens, baby parks, teachers and students for free or at low prices.

After the funding problem was solved, Zhou Juemei immediately began to renovate the school building and acquire equipment, and soon renovated the school. In the first semester of resuming school, Hongdao can only borrow Whelan Middle School to recruit freshmen from one class. In the autumn of 1946, Hongdao basically recovered and officially enrolled junior and senior high school students. By the summer of 1948, the school had more than 400 high school and junior high school students and 37 faculty members. In addition, the school has an attached primary school, a kindergarten and a nursery [5]. Soon, the campus of Hongdao is full of string songs, and the book is full of vitality. From all walks of life, teachers and students in Hongdao praised Zhou Juemei's "efforts to rebuild Hongdao".
