Brief introduction of Bozhou traditional Chinese medicine

Bozhou has a suitable soil climate and excellent combination of light, heat and water, producing high-quality Chinese herbal medicines. There are four kinds of medicinal materials named after Bo in China Pharmacopoeia: Shao Bo, Chrysanthemum morifolium, Pollen morifolium and Mulberry.

Bozhou has a long history of planting medicinal materials. According to legend, it began in the first medicine garden cultivated by Hua Tuo, an imperial doctor at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the folk have been continuing the wind of planting medicines. Liu Kai, a famous poet in Qing Dynasty, wrote a poem saying: "Peony flowers are outside Huang Xiao, and the sunrise is ten miles away. Everyone grows flowers before and after the flowers, and every family grows flowers like Sang Ma ... "The poem praised the enthusiasm of Bozhou farmers for planting Sang Ma and other medicinal materials at that time.
